To /afk or not to /afk...
Right now, at least, I'd recommend not. It's hard to walk into a battleground these days without noticing at least one player who's not doing anything but sitting quietly near the battleground entrance gaining honor and reputation. Perhaps they're using a bot or perhaps they're watching a movie and occasionally pressing the space bar -- either way, they're a nuisance at best. And when this post showed up on the customer service forums, I couldn't help but be surprised. Because while Blizzard would previously take action against players using bots or hacks to prevent them from going AFK during a battleground, now they seem to be prepared to act against any players "who are not actively participating" in a battleground. The wording is still very vague, but this could mean a crackdown on AFK players -- regardless of method.

But...But...But...How will I make Grand Master if I have to actually PARTICIPATE in the BGs?!?!?!?!?!?!
Antheli Oct 4th 2006 10:33AM
Is fishing considered "actively participating"?

"Grand Masters" do participate in BG's. The problem with them is their entire Group will often /afk when the see they are put against another set group.

During peak hours, I tend to group pvp and we never /afk out. If we notice that we are coming up against a premade team, we simply have the leader group que us for a different battleground and we enter that when it pops a minute or so later.

What is a "premade team"?
Mordiceius Oct 4th 2006 1:12PM
It's a term a minority of servers use to describe a group working together on a server (such as guild groups or warlord/marshall groups). They'll also just refer to them as 'premades' but pay no mind to these people, for they are ignorant.

A "Pre-Made" is where a group of your buddies (10 for WSG & 15 for AB) queue up as a team instead of risking your luck with just joining single.

How to avoid getting kicked outa bg.
1. Be honest ...tell your team "Yo afk wife agro brb".
2. Safest method: Alt+f4 out...when you log back in you are still in BG. As long as the scrim is still going.
