Another set of possible hunter talents
We're getting close to the end of these Burning Crusade talent rumors -- as all sources are predicting official hunter talents out soon. However, they're not out yet, and that means just one thing: more hunter talent rumors! I am tempted to put some faith in this set of rumors, which come from poster Anders on the Curse Gaming forums, as we've gotten interesting information from him before that's later proven accurate. The talents are interesting and some rather odd (threat reduction? increased RAP by 25% of intellect), but with some of the talents I've seen previewed thus far for other classes, these would not surprise me. And if they're wrong? Well, we'll see in the next few days. Read on for the full text of the possible talents.Beast Mastery
- Tier 6 -- Animal Handler -- Increases your speed while mounted by 4% and your pet's chance to hit by 2%. The mounted movement speed increase does not stack with other effects. (8/4%)
- Tier 7 -- Ferocious Inspiration -- When your pet scores a critical hit, all party members have all damage increased by 1% for 10 sec. (2/3%)

SNAKES ON A TRAP
Anthony Oct 5th 2006 8:30AM
Sounds pretty cool, since a hunter is my main, this is very interesting. Lets just see what blizz has to say about this.
Tazrach Oct 5th 2006 8:34AM
Fake is my guess. Unless items get crit rating but talents still deal in percentages. MAster Tactician seems to be wrongly templated for BC.
Luclan Oct 5th 2006 8:35AM
That trap is gonna be ugly in the bg's
Silencing shot is going to own depending on cooldown time. The beast within WOULD BE GOOD if pets were actually of use in raids :(
I dont even have a hunter why I am posting here?
Unkle Oct 5th 2006 9:10AM
Yeah, probably fake.
Like #4 said, the critical chance doesn't match up with the confirmed changes to critical in the expantion.
Also, I doubt the snake trap would be real. There is already an AoE damage trap, and unless those snakes did some stupid huge damage, they would be pointless. Not to mention that they would need some decent health to not just be quickly slaughtered.

Will it finally be good to go full Marksman for PVE/PVP? Currently I have more agility, AP and crit with 21/30... wonder how much this will affect us...
TeddyK Oct 17th 2006 9:54AM
That snakes trap will be pretty funny too see. Esp. when a rogue comes running up tryin to be how a rogue is and bam, cant stealth for 15 sec. I wonder if vanish will remove the snakes like it does DOTs and such?? And FINALLY some good mana regen!! yes! I hate running out....Silencing shot could be fun, makes me feel like a ranged Enhancement shammy. Now all a hunter needs is some form of Purge or Dispel....tee hee! >:-}

Why question threat reduction? It's a PRIMARY ability of hunters. As pullers, scouts and low-maintenance DPS, threat reduction is at the heart of what they do, they need it to do their jobs. Any threat reducing talent allows them to go longer inbetween having to drop a Feign Death, and that's a good thing.

It doesn't say anything about the AGI / DPS nerf.
I had heard that they were nerfing the 1 AGI = 2 DPS to 1 AGI = 1 DPS.
Any confirmation of this?
If they were maybe they could abolish guns and bows and replace them with pea shooters.
:/

Interrupting with silencing shot would be hard with wind up time and shot travel time. It would prettym uch just be good for pulling or shutting up a priest after an aimed shot to keep them from shielding.
Snake trap seems redundant.
Thrill of the hunt makes Surv pretty much required for raiding. Thats incredibly over powered especially if you have over 30% crit.
Serpents Swiftness is also overpowered. Thats a 25% DPS increase. Way too high for a single talent.

"The beast within WOULD BE GOOD if pets were actually of use in raids :( "
Ferocious Inspiration would take care of that...be even more interesting if it stacked.

God. If it was 1 agi= 1 dps that woudl be amazing. I would have way over 500 DPS :P Replace DPS with RAP and youve got the rumor right, no confirmation.

Dear lord I hope these arent the actual Talents - Ive got a fully Survival specced, meleeing hunter alt, and most of the Survival talents shown here revolve around ranged attacks. As it stands, Im hoping they replace Wyvern's Sting, or at least give an up-close 31 point alternative.

Wow, hope these aren't the real talents. There are a few things in totally the wrong trees for sure.
Can't wait for the real deal!
Faar Oct 5th 2006 11:35AM
If you people read the discussion thread, you'll see they ARE the real deal, though obviously still under development (BC is just in alpha so far after all).
I think these talents look good overall. I don't know survival enough to judge it since I never used it on any of my two 60 hunters, but marksmanship looks solid though unexciting, and beastmaster looks freakin incredible.
If I don't reroll full beastmaster after BC hits I'd be VERY surprised, the new beastie talents looks like a grindbotter's wet-dream come true. I'll sure miss aimed and scatter shot a lot, unless I can get them somehow, but the joys of the beast simply look too tempting to pass up, especially with the gear-based buffs they're gonna give pets. I have a turtle pet that is sure to become ROCK HARD in BC, especially with shell shield activated!
Sthelas Oct 5th 2006 12:06PM
There was a post on the WoW US Forums that it would be announced at the end of this week. It was either Eyonix or Tseric who confirmed that I forgot. Ill refind the link to it. Ill comment again once I find it.
Sthelas Oct 5th 2006 12:08PM
O nevermind you guys ready found it and it was also possible for early next week. Sorry.
Kyle Oct 5th 2006 2:08PM
About Readiness...don't most of a Hunter's abilities have a cooldown of 30 seconds or less? It's been a while since I played my hunter (wanted to reroll her as a Draenei), but I don't recall waiting too much on anything.
If it is as I remember, Readiness seems pretty meh as a top talent. But maybe I'm forgetting something.
Unkle Oct 5th 2006 3:24PM
Not bad for an extra multi-shot.
The only real use I can think of though is to lay a couple quick traps, or get feign death back real fast if it gets resisted.
The only other good stuff with a timer more than 30sec. is at the top of the BM tree, so you wouldn't be able to use both.
