Inside the Caverns of Time
Most of us can't get there yet, but Vhell has posted an excellent writeup of the instance on the Curse Gaming forums. It sounds and looks like a lot of fun -- an exciting romp through Warcraft history, with plenty of good loot rewards along the way. However, Vhell did notice the downside of the zone:First thing that I noticed after zoning in is that I was suddenly ugly. Not only that, but a human! I know that I'm bald and everything, but human? That's just an insult to my character. Everyone in the group becomes afflicted by a buff that switches their race to a more appropriate one to the instance.

"What did he think Forsaken were before they died...?"
We were long dead before you were alive, and we'll be long dead after you're dead.
Duh.

Its actually very cool! As an undead going back in time through the caverns of time before the scourge, you go back to your old uncontaminated humanity! Brilliant!

what a load of crap, corpses from any race can become undead, not just human. i, like many rpers, write short histories for my characters, and my undead was a night elf, not a human ... and honestly i think humans are my least favorite race ... dont make me a human, blizz, plleeeeease :'(

Well, monkeywraith, it's really just a guise for the Caverns of Time. I can assure you your character won't take the guise of a Night Elf. Remember, this is Hillsbrad before Humans and the others found Kalimdor. A Night Elf would cause some problems.
So, really, if you had a choice, it would likely be only human, high elf, dwarf, or gnome, as they would be the only ones able to walk around Hillsbrad without any problems.

Monkeywraith:
According to the lore, the forsaken are mainly (if not entirely) comprised of the former humans of lordaeron

yeah. but do you keep your racial ablitys or do you get human ones? thats the big question!

You wrote (pause for laughing) a background story for your character! "Monkeywraith, a small Night Elf with a body of the same proportions to that of humans, was a noble creature, loved by good and feared by evil. Strangely enough, when his noble end came, his body was still to the exact same dimentions as a human." Man do you people pay for backgrounds, I think Im pretty good at it.
