A later release means... more beta invites?
Well, Nethaera didn't phrase it quite in that way, but she did confirm that there are still opportunities to get a beta invite. While Blizzcon attendees and beta contest winners have guaranteed entry, there are still invites for players who were neither. Nethaera advises us to keep an eye on fan sites and Blizzard's own site for possible information on how to get yourself into the beta test -- though, no, she can't tell you when you might expect to see anything.Filed under: News items, Expansions

Did this post have a point?

My guild is getting beta invites it looks like. When I first heard this, it sounded pretty exciting. I figured hey, go check out the new stuff, learn a bit about the new dungeons, find my way around.
But now, with BC release months away (They said January, and you *believe* them?), I am not as excited. Really doesn't seem to be much point to spending more than a few days in there. Why level a character up to 67 or whatever, just to do it again?
I just don't see doing more than a few days worth of checking stuff out, and that doesn't take 3+ months to do. Don't get me wrong, I will probably log on the second the invite goes through and start farting around, but will probably be back on the regular servers shortly after.
I guess it will still be cool to check out things as they are changed, like talents, items, etc. Somehow just doesn't seem the same though, knowing that it will so much longer before whatever I learn in there can be used outside the beta servers.
Between the push back of the expansion, and the healing nerf, I think I am a bit disillusioned LOL! Oh well, we start this week's Nax in about 2 hours. Better get in there and heal effectively while I still can!

Interestingly enough, Best Buy was handing out beta invites to employees in the media department on a first-come, first-served basis. I believe it was about 1,500 or so keys they were giving. Here's to hoping I am lucky enough to snag one.
