A little love (or nerf) for the shaman class [Update]
I can't think of any class that gets less love here at WoW Insider than the shaman. It is not intentional, Over at WoW Vault they have recently posted a little blurb (which seems like it might be from a forum thread, but they don't credit a source) from Nethaera giving a bit of a roadmap in regards to the future of the shaman talent trees. The Enhancement tree is going to get hit with the nerf bat, to the shock (haha get it? shock!) of no one, and the other trees will get a little bit of love.
Hmmm...nerfing the Enhancement tree? Shamans will be loving that! Be sure to go check out Nethaera's entire statement, as I may have missed something key as I am most certainly a shaman noob, and if I did, comments would be appreciated!

David! My main is a Shammy, and I talk about him all the time! SHAMAN POWER!
Oh, and Neth's comment is from this thread.

It would suck for Blizzard to take dual wielding away from us, but I can see it happening. They might just nerf it down to the point where we get more damage out of our searing totem then our second weapon. But so be it.

Hello, thanks for the info. I was planning on going to the ehancment tree when the exp came out, because of the weaking elemental tree. Hope they will do something good. Go elemental!

My main is a Shammy, was enhance until they nerfed it last shaman patch and basically had to regear myself as elemental. Then I heard elemental was weak in BC so I started assembling enhance gear to start leveling to 70 with duel wield. Now, after reading that, I'm thinking of just rolling a Blood Elf Warlock. Blizz obviously has no clue what to do with Shaman. And there are gonna be no spots for a non-resto shaman again in PvE after they are done nerfing enhance.

Why did I think your main was a mage? I must be an idiot. Which, frankly, is not new information! :)

I play a shaman as my main on my PvE server. I am mainly enhancement with some restoration thrown in at the end. I was looking forward to dual-wielding. :(
My shaman is not 60 yet, but it seems that they need to work on giving us a role in those 20-40 man instances. Dual-wield would have let us fill a DPS role instead being a relatively crappy healer all the time. I can see where, with the introduction of the Paladin to the Horde, shamans might be falling by the wayside for endgame stuff.
Still killer in PvP though.

There ya go!

DOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!
That said, I figured something like this would happen. But they still need to give shammies a way to drop aggro. A Fade-like ability or something.

My main is a 60 shammy, I was REALLY looking forward to the new enhancement tree, I just hope they don't nerf it too much. An Elem/Enhance shammy can do massive amounts of damage in the right situations. This is not a bad thing blizz...

Vrak is a total noob. How do I know this? Because I raid with they guy, he is to be marked with the blue square of shame!
Jason C (Vrak) Oct 27th 2006 10:25AM
Thank you David Nelson, now everybody once again respects me and values my opinion. Maybe now I won't have to wear that blue square of shame that 'Erik' posted about.
The question is, who is your character on bloodhoof? *poke*
ps when I'm a multi-billionaire you get a Ferrari.

Glad I could be of service.

Can someone post the comments. Damn you Websense.

For those of you trying to figure out who I am over at the Funkytown forums, I downed C'Thun on my recently retired Warlock, not on my priest.
And I still love me some Vrak.
Jason C (Vrak) Oct 27th 2006 2:31PM
We're getting closer the great Maulain will figure it out. Off the topic, what color would you like your Ferrari?

Not all nerfs are so bad. You have to consider many things in the beta.
Now I may not have a 55+ shaman to transfer over but being in beta I can say.
Duel weilding shaman is super powerfull. Consider two maces or hand axes socketed.
Ontop of the shaman weapon enchant spell.
Now im gona look deeper into socketing later cause my first couple days in beta has been overwhelming.
I will say if I can enchant a socketed weapon...sheesh...yah overkill ..
Could you imagine a shammy with two axes with lets say sockets +enchant+stone spell on them beating you on your skull.
Duel weilding that power?
I wouldnt write off Enhancement tree if I were you. The test is still on till january and changes are frequent.
Hell the level cap is 67 right now. We cant even test lvl 70 out or the content at that level.
SO relax and dont knee jerk.
