This shrine (the spirit healer image is visible if you visit the area
when dead even when not dead) is located in the Barrens to the west of the Crossroads. The shrine is a
tribute to the memory of Michel Koiter, twin brother of René Koiter, both influential Blizzard artists. Ariss of Duskwood sent in this image, saying that there's a bet riding on the picture getting posted -- I never knew "Around Azeroth" was a competitive sport!
Do you have a unique shot of Azeroth that you'd like to show off to the rest of the world? Tell us about it by e-mailing
aroundazeroth@gmail.com! You can attach a picture file or send us a link to one -- and don't worry about formatting, we'll take care of that part.

Nice bit of background info on that post.
Not being up on all my Blizz lore, I had always thought the WoW spirit healer and the angel from the end of Diablo II: LoD looked very much alike. Both being from the Blizzverse I just thought it was artist expression.

You mean Tyrael? He looks 100000000xcooler, IMO.

Yes! I win a pizza! Thanks Elizabeth, I'll send you a slice.

I definitely lost that bet. I sent in a few images too, Ariss won fair and square. Duskwood FTW!
Also, the wings of the spirit healer were absolutely influenced by Tyrael's ribbon wings.

I always wondered what that area was for. Thanks for the FYI, and what a creep way to die.

Sorry to interupt. I just wanted to add that the Spirit Healer is visible even when alive. So just to clear that up, you do not need to be dead to see her.

Why doesn't she just rez him?
