Around Azeroth: The crypts of Karazhan

Reader Matt sends in this, one of the creepiest shots of Azeroth I've seen. (And beyond "creepy" I can't come up with any good words to describe it.) It is the interior of the crypts of Karazhan, dungeon to be opened with the Burning Crusade. Not officially opened, but some people will always find ways...

Yeah, I got to that room, too. It's huge, like six stories of a seven story tall room are underwater, with bodies chained down in the water so they don't float to the surface. Never has anything in the game made me so glad there's no functional smellovision interface for a PC.

Don't mix up this with new dungeon there, those catacombs are still in the same state in beta as they are in current game - seems nothing will be hapenning there.

I'm always interested in going to places like these. I'd like to hear if anyone knows how to get in?

To get here, go to the far south (I think) of Deadwind Pass, just east of Darkshire. The quickest way to do it is to just die around there. The spirit guardian is right in front of the entrance to a catacomb; jog on down in ghost form and walk through the gate. It *is* possible to get in alive (say, by killing yourself right ouside the entrance, via train-of-doom or utilizing the tall tree nearby), but overall it's not really worth it. Not too big a difference alive or dead.
