Around Azeroth: Don't drink and WoW

Rob sends in this shot demonstrating quite clearly why not to drink and WoW. Not sure what I'm talking about? Click on the image to get the high rez version. Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. In-game drinking is disorienting at best -- and makes it nearly impossible to actually play. (Thank goodness the effects wear off relatively quickly.)

I generally try to visit Booty Bay nice and early whenever I make a new character so that I can pick up cheap booze.
Nothing makes VC/WC/whatever other lame instance you've done a thousand billion gajillion times more fun than heavy drinking!
"Okay guys, all we have to do is scale this pirate ship without pulling the patrol until we reach the top level."
"No problem!"
"Okey-dokey!"
"Shorry, what wash that? Hic!"
(Hilarity ensues.)
I also distributed rum to my entire party the first time I did Uldaman. I don't know why we wiped so often, but I'd like to think it wasn't my fault.

I still think it's more fun to *actually* drink while playing-- combining that with guild chat on vent guarantees heavy tomfoolery!

I agree with PM. I don't go into any instance beyond Stockades without a 6-pack in the fridge.

Surprisingly, the screen does look a lot like this when drunk in the RL. combine that with virtual drinking, then try to do an instance.

There are several other drunk effects as well! In the later stages of drinking, players are unable to move straight in one direction, they sort of start leaning left or right. If the player is on their mount, they'll stand on the saddle while stationary. The most amusing side effect is that mobs will appear 3-4 levels lower to the player than they really are.

I've done all of DM North entirely smashed as my paladin before and had no problems.
Don't drink and whine.

Haha, I love the lowered mob level. It's like "Heck ya I can take that sonuvab*tch!"

Just so everyone knows (I'm sure most do anyway so sorry if you do) but you can disable the effect by turning off fullscreen glow effect in the settings. Particularly useful for the Spider trash in ZG.
