Breakfast Topic: What items won't you toss away come level 70?
This forum thread is pretty interesting. In it, some WoW.com folks discuss what items they know they absolutely, positively won't get rid of come level 70. If you think about it, it would almost have to be a trinket or some kind of specialty item, as I don't think armor or weapons will pass the test of time come the Burning Crusade.Personally, I know I won't be throwing away my Abyss Shard come the expansion. For those non-warlocks out there, the Abyss Shard allows you to cast your summon voidwalker spell without the need for a soulshard. It doesn't sound that useful, but I still find myself occasionally out of shards after a raid, and the voidwalker summon comes in handy. It isn't the most uber trinket, but it is certainly worth keeping around. On my priest, I will be certainly be taking Mike's advice and keep my Hydrocane.
What about you guys? What will you never give up? Is it a trinket as well? Or maybe it is that hard-earned epic mount that regardless of what kind of neat rides await us across the Dark Portal, will never leave your bank?

Having played the beta, all of your gear unless it's Tier 3 or better becomes pretty much obsolete.
For example I play a priest. There is a quest that is available in Thrallmar the moment you step through the portal that provided a green staff pgrade that surpasses Benediction/Anathema in power.
Remember how many hours and hours and HOURS of grinding Molten Core it took to see the first Benediction? Yeah this new quest takes like 20 minutes.
I have no intentions of holding onto ANYTHING unless it's an item that has some actual utility like the one's you mentioned.

I suppose I'm keeping my Mind Quickening Gem (BWL Mage trinket which increases casting speed by 33% for 15sec), even with lvl 70, as it will scale perfectly with BC :)

you will never get my diamond flask(trinket) away from my Warrior!

The carrot! The carrot!

This is a no brainer, Dartol's Rod! Turn into a furbolg any tme I like? Woohoo!

I second the carrot, though I forget to use it, 3% is a nice boost any level. Basically any item that increases a stat by a percentage that's isn't getting nerfed (hello Drak trinket's +2% crit).

Judgement Gear. Period. Just cuz nothing looks better for a Pally. Period =D
Prauche Nov 8th 2006 9:54AM
Linken's Boomerang. Just for coolness factor -- and the fact that it took a lot of running here and there and everywhere to then just toss it out.

#5. Don't you mean nothing looks better for any character? period.

My Pet Rock will always be by my side, Its never left my bags ever since I looted it. It just always "looks happy" Does anyone else think it looks like a fish, kidna?

Another vote for Dartol's Rod - I love being able to turn into a furbolg! Also, all of my trinket pets, even though they are taking up a lot of room.

My Deepdive Helmet. Never got the Hydrocane so if I need to do any more underwater quests, this comes in very handy. I keep it in a bag in case I ever need it. Came in handy a few times in Tanaris escaping enemy Alliance who couldn't venture down that long!

Pet frog from my first Darkmoone Faire. Nothing's more ridiculous than a level 70 Tauren hunter with a 1g pet wood frog.
Well, maybe a white kitten...

Hand of Justice. I *still* haven't gotten one, but maybe once I hit 70, I'll go back and solo the Emperor in BRD for it ;)
If you use Engineering trinkets, many of those would be worth keeping as well.

If the current hunter loot in TBC beta is anything to go by, I won't be dropping any of my current gear. All quests etc have one mail, one cloth, one plate ... and 95% or more of the mail gear is Chamois gear. Same with random drops.

Well being lucky enough to win a ZG raptor i'll definitely be keeping him for ever :) Dorf female on raptor ftw!

unless they make a epic version of the goblin rocket helm, it will never leave my head. I've gone through countless MC and BWL raids with that thing on. It just looks too damn cool to take off.

Well seeing as I never throw away anything.... I probably still won't throw away anything :)
I kept a pile of Magic Sand (level 10 req, puts a target to sleep for 30sec) that I got off a dust devil in Westfall (on my 60 horde priest) in my bank for about 3 months. I only deleted it cause I didn't have any room for my NR set :(
