World of prankcraft
My guild (the uberl33t Gothic Bunnies on Thunderhorn-H) has been really rolling through MC lately-- we've got everything but Rag on farm status (and we'll have him soon, don't worry). But since the zone is so easy for us now, we need to do something to keep each other interested, and tonight that something came in the form of pranks. One of our warlocks stepped away on /afk and put himself on /follow to another player... who then jumped in the lava, with the warlock following right behind him. We summoned the other player out, and left the lock to flounder in the flow. And while the summon out of the lava was going on, one of our mages put a portal to Orgrimmar right over the summon portal, and three of our guildies ended up in Orgrimmar before they realized they were clicking on the wrong thing. Two fights later, our MT dragged Garr's last minion away from us back towards the lava (we had all crowded around him before he exploded just to send us all flying), and instead sent a few guildies flying into the drink. Basically, there was shenanigans aplenty in Molten Core tonight.
And this is definitely not the first time I've seen this kind of thing go down, either. Our mages love to give out level 1 conjured water, just to make us mana users angry. And way back when I was going through UBRS on my first time (on my gnome warrior), I got freaked out when Vael (who I later learned is a friendly NPC in UBRS) appeared and I was frantically told by my guildies to "tank the red dragon!" It took me a few seconds to figure out why my taunt button wasn't working.
Are you the same way-- does your guild prank each other mercilessly, or are we all just crazy?

while it might be fun now, when you have been farming mc for months, doing such things slows the run down when everyone wants to get out asap
we will miss pull multiple mobs and take all the core hound packs at one go for kicks, but usually we dont have more than 2 or 3 people die the entire raid
we also tend to say, the bomb must run to the so and so, but nobody actually will do it, and even if they do, our gear is good enough to keep us alive

why not progress, do bwl or something. zg or aq20. stop wasting your time. but reguardless. look at your guilds name, guess you cant expect too much from someone with such a horrible name.

In BWL my guild uses the priest Nefarian debuff (class call) against one random member of the raid (usually a paladin) just to F with their heads and we all have a good laugh. Like chasing someone with some sick moldy hot dog or a booger on your finger and they run away.
It's all in good fun and it's hilarious to see someone else squeal as they try and avoid almost certain death.

My guild has something of a tradition in Molten Core. Every time someone has their first trip through, we let them get the !special treasure chest! located behind the lava waterfall where Golemagg was.
They run up to the waterfall, anticipating a special quest, or perhaps a special fire resistance epic.
The guild cheers the newbie on, and anticipation builds!
They then step through the waterfall, start clicking around, and die to ~3000+ fire damage. The guild has a good laugh, we rez the guy, and we move on.

A highly unadvisable trick a Warlock played on us once was putting Curse of Tongues on Ragnaros, thus screwing up his knockback timers. He was kicked soon thereafter, but hey, if you guys want a new challenge on the Firelord, it might be worth trying this out.

In Naxxramas, we had someone Ninja-AFK. When he returned, we panicked and started yelling "OH MY GOD GET OUT OF THERE, YOU NEED TO GO IN THE PIT BEFORE YOU PULL AGGRO, PAT INCOMING!" He then ran into Razuvious' pit, got rocked, and we reminded him to always inform us when he has to go AFK.
It was classic seeing him jump, run in a complete panic, and then to his doom.

In my previous raid we used to tell new raid members to get the quest 'in the window behind Golemagg'.
Check it sometime, the quest is well worth it ;)

My guild doesn't prank, but I do. I constantly do dumb things like coax people into the "window to see Rag" behind Golemagg, convince a Paladin to put Blessing of Salvation on the tanks, begin healing the Mage next to me with all my mana when I'm assigned to heal the main tank (they have similar names. Not quite similar enough that any intelligent person should mistake one for the other in a raid, but close.), or just move where I'm "inside" of another Priest, Psychic Scream and quickly move away, for when we do lower instances for fun. :) I'm amazed I haven't been kicked out of the guild yet. Somebody has to have said "She made me do it!" or realize that for some reason I was safely DI'd (by the tank-Salvation-blessing-Paladin, sometimes) by the time we wiped with no advance warning.

Lately, one of our mage as been stacking is portals after raids with cheers of "Mystery Portal" in Vent.
But now alot of folks are getting more and more annoyed at it. I wish he would do it only once in a while because now we just ask another mage to do another portal to IF beside the "Mystery Portal".

My guildmates are notorious for using a leftover Burning Adrenaline from Vael to suicide-kill others in the raid. I was fortunate enough last night to get BA just before Vael went down and immediately started seeking out one of our worst offenders of this. I found him running to Razorgore's room (he must have known it was coming) but I blinked and caught up to hiim just as it went off. Good times.

Ya know if I was in a guild like #1 or 2 wher fun and pranking were looked down upon, I would /gquit before long. Half the fun of this game is discovering the quirks and exploits that were not intended. Thats why my real life friends and I made a guild away from the "way to serious" wow players. Sure we may not be able to do 40 man runs very often, but dammit we have fun pranking each other and discovering exploits. And we still manage level on a regular basis and get pretty good gear.
Shout out to Montys Marauders on Khadgar! WOOT!

I have 4 60s, and this is my favorite stuff to do on em:
Mage: Start an IF portal, and "/yell >>> Summoning Soandso
Gnomercy Nov 15th 2006 9:49AM
mage: IF portal, and do a warlock type summon yell and catch noobs =)
Lock: rain of fire on the 3rd boss in MC. exponentially better with more locks doing it. also 1% banishes on annihilators.
Rogue: sneaking the the boss in the cathedral, giving a love tap and vanishing out. had a cocky pally saying he could take em all, and he couldn't
Warrior: taking mobs for walks. Started with golemagg's puppies. now I do dragonkin in BWL.
Cascade Nov 15th 2006 10:23AM
For our guild, the tanks always pride themselves on keeping and holding agro...thus the pallies play the usual....sneak in a salvation just after combat starts or the ever popular blessing of protection.
AQ40, a warrior will run down and back after a fankriss kill bringing a whole host of spiders...great for damage meters for the AoEers...but not when their healers are afk after the boss kill.
Of course there's musical thong...no one wants to have the big green thong over their head (green triangle)...

Our guild always send anyone that hasn't ran UBRS before to go pet the beast. This always amounts to a "Oh Crap" moment. We like to mind control the axe throwers in the room of the Tiger Boss in ZG for kicks. And yeah the "you can see Ragnaros through that little window there behind Golemag" always cracks me up.

Double stacking the portals. Click if you like, looks like Iron Forge but feels like a Darnassus portal. Enjoy...
The lowest rank of arcane intellect looks the same as the highest rank of it. Especially for the asses who are rude when they ask for buffs.
And as for the dipping. My slacker hunter friend and I made it a rule.. never auto follow us while you are afk. If you asked us we would let it slide but if you did it without asking you would find your self drowned in a lake, or in the lava. Or we would drag you into aggro range of some mobs then fd.
Back in everquest there was a game that gave you points on how many people you could kill in doing something. Pulling aggro, training, breaking mezzes etc. I scored big the patch after they changed the bosses in mc and made them aggro everyone in the zone when pulled. Two wipes on shazz and baron pulls. I fd'd... baron walked right over me and destroyed the raid. They didn't clear the lava packs on the side like i suggested. And so when shazz rolled into Garr's room, a lava pack joined the fight. Fire blossoms and Shazz aoe'ing = pwned raid.
Finally...when getting ready for Vael after a wipe, he will aggro if you get to close. The raid also found out (much to a large amount of cussing and request for removals from the raid)...vael is not immune to rogue's distract ability. Nothin funnier then watching this big ass dragon suddenly turn around and face the raid who is not ready for the pull. Hunters fd'd, people ran in to razorgore's room, and started removing gear to save durability.
I don't think I have ever laughed that hard.

Well, i try not to fool around in an instance like MC, but when my mage friend and i run scholomance (i myself am a priest), i usually let my friend die at least once when he has to aoe the dragons just for fun. He says i'm driving up his repair bill on his 6/8 tier 1 gear but oh well...what kind of friend would i be if i didn't mess with him a little?
syu Nov 15th 2006 3:48PM
DI rogues
heal through the nef priest debuff on MT (does not work all that well just so ya know)
Seatbelt Nov 15th 2006 5:57PM
Well It doesnt have anything to do with raids, But Summoning someone to the bottom of the ocean where there is fatigue is one thing that makes us on vent chuckle.
And the lovely warlock who played this on me, gave me a rank 1 healthstone on razor...lol
Samidare Nov 15th 2006 9:25PM
I forgot to add.
This one time we decided to pull a julias ceasar on our guild master who was running late to the raid. We where in stv heading for zg. We made a lil pit stop into the arena and then summoned him.
It was fast and brutal. But oh so delicious...
I still watch the fraps of it and giggle.
good times in Hand of Fate
