Around Azeroth: Wipe number nine...

Trystania of Eitrigg sends in this shot of her guild running back towards Blackwing Lair after their ninth wipe on the second boss, Vaelstrasz. Ah, yes, this screenshot brings back fond (???) memories of learning the Blackwing Lair encounters, including many evenings when defeating Vaelstrasz seemed like nothing but pure luck. I'm sure many of you can relate!

Nothing like endless raiding wipes to drain your bank account. Cha-Ching!

Ah, nothing's more refreshing than wiping to a monster whose health decreases as slow as molasses after 5%. Good times!

My favourite boss kill was Vael. It was a tough night, we had already had two wipes on him and this was going to be our final attempt. We all loaded up and started in. Lost a few healers early, bad sign. We struggled as per usual until at 1% there was only 3 people standing. The dreaded one percent that always takes longer than the rest of the fight combined.
Vael was walking around chomping. Death to a rogue, followed by a paladin until finally there was just one little mage left. There were still some DoTs on Vael.
Our brave little mage had already used his iceblock so it was on cooldown. Fired out one icebolt(?) then realised he was almost dead. He looked at his health, and looked at Vaels. The dreaded 1%, no point trying. The valiant little mage decided to sit and drink a health pot "Ahh what the heck" he said.
Vael let out a fiery breath towards our brave mage when suddenly ... one of the dots on him took its final tick. Vael roared up on his hind legs, our little mage friend died, and Vael collapsed in a heap.
Because of that health pot our (sitting) mage stayed alive JUST long enough to outlast Vael, by less than a second. If it was not for the health pot, the mage would have died first and Vael would have reset.
Trumble of Oceania Guild on Proudmoore, my hat comes off to you.
