The WTF Factor and the Burning Crusade
Timothy Burke has posted an interesting article over at Terra Nova about "WTF" in the New Year. If you haven't been a gamer for long, you might not know "wtf" is slang for "What the Frak" (OK, that's only if you're a BSG fan-- the normally accepted meaning is a little more graphic). Burke, however, means he's ready for experiencing something new in Azeroth-- something he doesn't have down pat. It's true, after you've run UBRS about 50 times or so, you've pretty much got it down to a science. You know what to do with the pulls, you know all the sayings Rend and Nef shout out, you know to tell Awbee to quit his stupid whimpering, and you know that the dragons in Drakk's room can't be slept. It's not that it's not fun-- it is. But like Burke says, it's fun in the rehearsed ballet sense rather than the-- well, the "OMGBBQWTF just happened!!?!!" sense.
So like Burke, I too am hoping Blizzard delivers on the WTF in the expansion. I can't wait to run instances I don't know yet, or figure out how to do pulls I've never done before. I can't wait to see something drop that I've never read enviously about on Thottbot, or find an easter egg that I haven't yet heard about. Burke uses the Son of Arugal as an example of a WTF moment, but I'd say even something like the end of Maraudon, with the beautiful landscape, the epic bosses, and that gnarly Princess-- that's the stuff I can't wait to see when Burning Crusade finally comes around..

Simple yet elegant
Hehe...reminds me of the time I was leading a party in BRD and a memeber had to go get something right before we did Argelmach so he put his 16 year old on the mage..."SHEEP THAT DAMNED GOLEM!!!"...I couldn't help it :D
Or when you say, "hey guys, let's skip these rooms and move right to Windsor" just to share that WTFactor with the party...I've been BRDing a lot on my alt..

"...and you know that the dragons in Drakk's room can't be slept..."
My guild ran UBRS 2 nights ago and after wiping on Drakki once due to our hunter not kiting Drakki correctly (getting out the door and then getting conflagrated to a fine crisp), we took another try. Our druid tried to sleep one of his guards just in case and it DID work!
I don't know if they were just feeling lazy and thankful for the sleep or if it was a bug, but we managed to get them successfully to sleep.

the dragon can be sleeped , but with high resistant rate

The current design team's reactive approach will soon mire Warcraft in the same muck as Counter Strike. Played by all, beloved of few, finally just a stepping stone to better games.

Drakkisath's guards can be slept, but no other dragonkin between the arena and Drakkisath's room can - that's why most players don't even try to sleep his guards.
And yeah, like forzaq8 said, high resist rate.

As others have said, I've slept one of Drakk's 'adds' many times on my druid. Great practice for the pulls just after Vael as the resistance rate is pretty high and you have be johnny-on-the-spot with recasts. Also helps to have a feral druid sleep in the event that he gets loose and you need him tanked for a bit, while killing Drakk, or the other dragonkin. :P

Actually, I believe Drakk's guard can only be slept if they are 59 elites. Is's random so sometimes they can be 59 or 60.

or when you did SM the first time and thought that it didnt matter if you cleared the whole room before you killed the boss.

@ alf
I recently farmed SM with another 60 and despite having run SM cath a billion times in lower levels, we forget to clear out all the rooms before engaging the boss. We went down like a rock through paper.
