Guild banks? Someday!
Guild banks are inching closer and closer to reality. According to Enoyls in this thread, Blizzard initially planned to implement guild banks for the expansion, but that has been pushed to the back burner, and the banks will make their appearance in a post-expansion patch.Sure, it is a little disappointing to hear that they were planned for the Burning Crusade but have since been pulled, but it is great news that they are very much on Blizzard's radar. The current system of storing items on alts works, but it is annoying...and wouldn't it be nice to have a guild bank everyone could send items to? Instead of having MiningBank or ShardVault alts?
What features would you like to see included in a guild bank? Should everyone in the guild be able to view it? Do any other MMORPGs have a well-implemented guild bank feature you'd like to see Blizzard copy?

Everquest 2 did a great job with player housing and GuildBanks. And by great job I mean they actually had something and it worked. The Bank was viewable and what you could take out was done by rank & everything. It was quite a system. I don't think they need to copy it, I am sure they have some ideas of their own, but when I switched over, this was by far the feature I missed the most.

Certainly, everyone should be able to view the current inventory. A few suggestions :
1. A history of deposits and withdrawls should be maintained for obvious reasons.
2. All guild members should be allowed to make direct deposits to the bank but not withdrawls except, perhaps, the items they have deposited.
3. Withdrawls are not made and transferred by the guild bank manager. Rather, withdrawls are enabled and the item withdrawn by the individual. Items become soulbound when withdrawn in this way.
An interesting idea is should we be allowed to deposit and withdraw BoP items in a guild bank. Yes, it is a way to distribute drops from a raid to guildies that didn't participate in the raid. It would probably require a waiting period to stop the selling of BoPs to non-guild people by temporairly making them guild members. Like a cooldown of 2 weeks before a new guild member could withdraw deposited BoP items.
Just a few quick thoughts.

I run my guild's bank in the following manner...
When a member sends an item to the bank they get "store credit" with the bank for a value equal to the base AH value of the item.
Members then use that "store credit" to buy items.
They can't withdraw and blue untill they've deposited a blue, same with epix.
This approach prevents members trying to buy quality items by throwing a lot of trash greens at the bank.
What ever blizzard implement, it should be sophisticated and fair.
Should also allow the banker to specify a minimum level or quality of item to be deposited. This would allow us to avoid the bank filling up with trash greens that no one wants.
Should allow the guild banker to eaily vendor, AH or disenchant unwanted items.

It would be nice if the Guild Banks were linked to the Auction House with categories of White, Green, Blue and (snicker) Purple.
E.g. A guildy puts one Green in the bank that is worth 3G on the AH, s/he can then take out 3G in one Green or as many White as equals 3G from the bank...
A guildy puts two Blues (one worth 10G, the other worth 15G) in the bank, s/he can then take out 1 Blue worth 25G or as many Greens or Whites equal 25G...
Point is... a hundred blue deposites to the bank will still not equal the right to take out a purple but DKP can.

How about a guild purse, and the ability to directly transfer items from the bank into the AH? Money from sales would go directly to the guild purse.
With a guild purse you could also institute guild member fees (payed with DKP or silver/gold).
Then the bank manager can auction off all of those "trash" greens, and pick rare/epic items from the AH if they are a bargain (to be put in the bank, of course).
