Breakfast Topic: The season of giving
I was in the process of doing a little Christmas shopping this weekend, and as I hurried home to catch an Onyxia attempt, the thought occurred to me: am I going to get my favorite guildies anything?I only play with a few real life friends-- most of the people I know well in my guild I've only known online through Warcraft. But we've had a lot of fun, and I've gotten to know some of them pretty well. Considering Blizzard has included giftwrap in the game, it's no stretch that I might want to grab them something during the holiday season as a gesture of goodwill.
The only question, then, is what? RazorbladeKiss asks the same question over on Livejournal, and people suggest quite a few good things, from Snowshoe Rabbits to other faction specific cosmetic items. Almost anyone would love a good potion, or a few farmed mats you know they've been waiting for. But some things that would be really cool to give, like mounts or crafted items, are soulbound, or so common that every 60 has them. So are you getting your guildies anything in-game for the holidays? And if so, what?

I'm actually organising 'secret santa' for everyone in our guild (Amazons of Stormwind on EU-Khadgar).. everyone seems to think its a great idea to get into the Christmas spirit, and we're a very close guild to begin with anyway :)
For people who don't know what that is, everyone in a group of friends puts their name into a hat, and draws out the name of someone else. They then buy a gift for just that one person.. it means you don't know you'll be getting the gift for you :)
We put a max worth of 50s on the gifts, cos its really just a token gift for a bit of fun!!

16 Slots bags... of course all level 60 have 16 slots bags, but they can transfer it to their bank or Alt. They are not too expensive and not too cheap either... You can farm them or make them too if you want!

Troll in the Arathi Highlands drop good luck charms sometimes. Usually I get those as gifts. Dunno if you can gift wrap those though....

I am quitting the game in a week. Haven't decided on selling my account or giving away a crap ton of nexus crystals for Christmas. What do you all think? =)

As sick and sadistic as this is, there is a rare up in the corner of Loch Modan that drops a belt called a Support Girdle. I farm them and give them as gag gifts. :)

We're not a raiding guild (though some of us do raid with allied guilds), so the most we get into as a guild is something like UBRS. One of my guildmates can be very trying in those instances, always complaining about not getting anything good (though most of the time, he wins between 30-50% of the rolls on drops), complains about not raiding, just generally whines the whole way through.
I'm seriously thinking about wrapping "Coal" and sending it to him from a level 1 alt. For everyone else, it'll probably be bags and potions, since that's what my 60s can make.

One swiftness potion a piece to my real life friends. I've got an alt with low level alchemy so I get a profession point for each one I make. I've been casing Ashenvale for swiftthistle all during November. Any Horde on Dragonmaw that saw "Splintertree Post is under attack!" around Thanksgiving, yep, that was me. Doing some hit and runs when I got bored.

Hell, I am so happy nobody is expecting a xmas gift from me in WoW.
Christmas sucks already in Reallife, I don't need that race for gifts in WoW too.

Potions is a good idea.
I think i'll send my priest buddy a good stack of the high level mana pots.

I recommend a snowshoe rabbit.
Everyone wants one of those.
It's like a furby, but it runs around.

I would give out pets but everyone has one if they want one...
I'm thinking baked goods.
But I'm sure my bank alt has something I can give out =P

how bout nothing. There's no one in my guild that I like, with a few exceptions. It wasn't till I spent 4-5 raids with them to realize that I don't like them. But now i've got DKP to spend, so it does me no good to start over in a new guild.

The saddest thing is that lots of the things I'd LIKE to give as gifts, things that are fun and useful like a stack of savory deviate delight, or food that gives buffs that i can make, those things... they can't be giftwrapped. Why oh why did blizzard make giftwrapping for NON STACKABLE items only?

Snowden! I'm Alliance On Dragonmaw! Names Axezeris, /w me some time!
I Love giving out gifts, I usually solo VC a few times, get some green drops, and give those out. Also I try to find funny, Non stackable items. I only give gifts to those in my guild who help, are nice, and talk in Guild Chat. I cant stand people who don't talk at all... Its supposed to be a social game!

Im actually debating buy gold for my friends since they do so much WoW... I know it's wrong for a few good reasons... but hey its X-mas And a few hundred pieces of gold is cheaper then a Best Buy gift card, and will mean so much more to them...
