WoW Moviewatch: Singing Sylvanas
I wouldn't have expected it either, but apparently a quest in the Ghostlands leads to this interesting scene involving Sylvanas. When you turn in the quest, you receive the following text, and the above drama begins:
Lady Sylvanas Windrunner looks down at the discarded necklace. In her sadness, the lady incants a glamour, which beckons forth Highborne spirits. The chamber resonates with their ancient song about the Sin'dorei...

Whoa O.o
Didn't see that when I finished the quest.

I'm not sure that's real. The music is from the Burning Crusade credits and I have to say that, honestly, it would seem more than a bit out of character for her.

I am hoping it doesn't happen twice if you hand in the quest with a friend who also has the item, because that's a damn long event.

... Well it doesn't show her singing.... it even says the Highborne are the ones singing not Sylvaanas herself

This is very in character for Sylvanas. She was a blood elf (before they called themselves that). This sequence, if real, deepens the sadness at being turned undead by Arthas considerably. I think it's great.

Wow color me impressed. Sad and beautiful, i wonder what the exact story behind this quest is. And yes i wonder what she says in the end. Great video.

Although damned cool, I'd hate doing this quest more than once. Ever.
Unless the reward was awesome and I could just go away while she did it.

Yeah. i almost missed this when i turned the quest in. You find this locket or something off of mobs in a tower that used to be sylvanas's family estate. The locket is what you have to return to her. Turned it in, then started to walk away when i heard the music. Very new sort of sound for wow, and very very good. Ghostlands and Eversong have some great music attached to them.

I listened to the WoW ambient music for many months, because they did a great job choosing tunes that are terrific on first listen and manage to stay fresh after many hundreds of cycles. But this song is a step above, it deserves to be called an elegy. Very well done, Blizzard.

Lament Of the Highborne
Thalassian Version;
Anar'alah, anara'alah belore.
Sin'dorei.
Shindu fallah na.
Sin'dorei.
Anar'alah.
Shindu sin'dorei.
Shindu fallah na.
Sin'dorei.
Anar'alah belore.
Shindu sin'dorei.
Shindu fallah na.
Sin'dorei.
Anar'alah belore.
Belore.
Loosely translated version;
By the light, by the light of the Sun.
Children of the Blood,
Our enemies are breaking through.
Children of the Blood.
By the light.
Failing Children of the Blood,
They are breaking through.
O Children of the Blood.
By the light of the Sun.
Failing Children of the Blood,
They are breaking through.
O Children of the Blood.
By the light of the Sun.
The Sun.
At the end of the song she says "Belore." Which means "The Sun." Then kneels and picks up the medallion.

WOW! Sounds right like Rachell Luttrell from SG:Atlantins! If you've seen the show she plays Tehla, I only know her voice from an episode where her character sings! She has an angelicly wicked voice...(know I'm not sure if thats a word)

I wish they would add more scripted events like this into WoW I think it gives the game more depth.
I'm correct in thinking this is a TBC quest?
Was the music added to the video or does it play ingame whilst the scripted event is running?

It's played while you are there. I tried to catch it (...er, I'm the one that took the vid, hi!) so you could tell, but you can hear the Undercity music at the beginning there. When she casts the spell, the other song slowly fades in, and yes it plays in the throne room. You don't have to stay for the whole thing, there's a blood elf to the side that gives you the lyrics for the song, which is nice.
