Server-first Shaman ring drops to a Pally
Lots of people have already tagged Blizzard's move to start dropping Pally items to Horde and Shaman items to Alliance in raids (even though neither side can actually roll those classes for another month, much less have 60s that can use the BOP stuff) as a bad one, but here's more proof. A-Team, a guild over on Stonemaul-A dropped Kel'Thuzad, and got a server-first loot item: the Ring of the Earthshatterer, the ninth piece of Shaman Tier 3 armor. That's right, they got a historic, server-first, BOP drop-- and none of them could use it.The drop went to a pally (screenshot) in the hopes that a GM could come along and make it the Pally ring, but as you might expect by now, no dice. As a guy who plays a Shaman main, that especially tugs at the heartstrings.
Unfortunately, don't expect a change on this one-- the CMs have said any non-faction drops should be considered free Nexus shards. But considering that a guild running Naxx could farm Nexus shards in their sleep, that these drops mean there's even less chance that the right stuff will drop for a guild that actually needs it, and that these useless items will continue to be useless until someone finally gets a BE pally or Draenei Shaman to 60 (at absolute best, you're talking days after the expansion releases, if the servers are even up by then), it's too bad that Blizzard has resolved not to fix this one. Grats to A-Team for the nice drop, but shame on Blizzard for not letting them use it.

At the best, you're looking at exactly one week from the time BC is up before you start seeing level 60 paladins and shaman (of the new races), and that'll be just handfuls of people that know exactly what they're doing. You'll see more and more in the second and third weeks. The main issue will be server stability in that time and if people can actually get that much play time in or not.
And even after you get through all that, the bigger question is how many people are going to be raiding Naxx when there is content in Outland to explore?

All I can say is how stupid this really is, We had 4 Shammy pieces drop on Saturday. Thats 5-6 nexus crystals, and 4 people denied drops they worked hard to get. What a frakken waste.

What's dumb is that they drop loot like this marked "Shamen only". The stats on that ring would be useful for many different casters. Why does Blizzard create class-specific loot? It's a broken solution to the problem of loot distribution and sets.

Our raid group (multi-guild) is behind the curve on raid content. We recently decided we would take on Rags one last time. Post patch .. got to him in 2.5 hours.
Double Judgement.
Oh yeah .. I should have mentioned we're horde.
People couldn't leave the core fast enough.

Now that I'm past laughing at the pally who got the ring....
One more reason everyone and his brother is in PvP rather than doing instances.

This is just plain retard. I think I'm quitting the game after this crap. I've been waiting for my Judgement Crown to drop for like 7 months and the first Onyxia after the patch was Ten Storms. I mean... this is really having fun at costumers and bring them well beyond the line of toleration... I could not even imagine the feeling of putting so much effort in reaching such result and see it vain due to the blatant mental retards of Blizzard developers...

A week to get to 60? wtf!? It took me almost 4 months to do that. Now that's dedication...or having no life, could go either way.

Who cares...sell it to a vender just like the other crap you can't use and move on.

Blizzard said it is intended. I could have gone for that with the exception of the fact that MC and all other end-game instances are reset only within a time frame. So, if you could (theoretically) get a crappy drop and then walk out and reset the instance...no problem. But, this is not the case and seems a valid reason to complain.

I would love to get my hands on recording of their vent when they saw that drop, roflmao!
