My opinion is that if there is an issue on loot priority, then the guild needs to establish the rules and make them known and follow them in all cases.
The Drake Fang Talisman does the same thing for everyone who equips it. It increases AP, +hit, and +dodge. It does this for a priest, a rogue, a hunter, and a druid. Everyone gets the same buffs from it, and everyone can equip it. If a guild does not have a rule that this goes to melee classes first, then its free game. I just know when I'm on my lock, I'm saving dkp for a Neltharion's Tear instead, but if I'm on my warrior, then I'd gladly spend my dkp here.
Loot is loot, and everyone wants it. Druids can heal, tank, nuke, and melee, and they should have gear sets for all 4 forms for situational combat. Paladins CAN tank, Priests CAN dps, Shaman CAN nuke. To say they are only healers is to miss out on some great diversity.
