Around Azeroth: Exploring Alcaz Island

Reader Scott sends in this shot of the dock at the mysterious Alcaz Island off the coast of Dustwallow Marsh. The island seems to be something of a catchall as far as Blizzard is concerned... Prior to the 1.9 patch, the King of Stormwind could be found imprisoned in the sewers here. After the 1.9 patch the island was home to Dr. Weavil, a raid boss involved in the quest to open the gates of Ahn'Qiraj. And today? The island is host to a number of elite beasties of no particular allegiance.

One of the later quests in the Dungeon 2 armor set series leads you to this island as well. "I See Alcaz Island In Your Future" has you come here and gather bloodkelp.

Be very careful about how close you get to this island as a lower level because these things will eat you for breakfast.

These Elite beasties drop terrible too. Last week I went for a visit and for my effort after killing 8 - about 60 silver and a few grey trash drops. Blargh.
