I don't really play as much as i used to, for a couple of reasons.
Firstly, our guild disentegrated somewhat due to some liking Naxx and others not. Many felt there was no point raiding due to the incoming expansion, with Naxx loot not being worth the effort given what kinda blues and epics we can be expecting at level 70. I am in that same boat. I just don't see the effort being rewarded as it normally would were there not an expansion coming out soon.
The PvP patch, while fun for the first week, has lost its attraction for me. I liked some of the talents, but i didn't like getting 2-3 shotted in the BGs. But i did like 'free' epics. Now that they're harder, it's much less appealing now. I still think it's a very fair (if not still a too easy system) but i can't be bothered with it anymore.
Thirdly, none of my characters will hit level 70. My Draenei Shaman however will. Thus, the only thing i can really do at the moment which won't feel like a waste of time is to do what i can to improve my Shaman's potential success. I've got the gear i need, mostly, now i just need more ore to help kickstart my Jewelcrafting. Much of the past few days i've spent in WoW has been farming Iron and Mithril. Thorium will start next week, i wager.
Thus, what's there really to do? Nothing much in WoW. I do not however feel that the game is dead to me. It's merely on hiatus. The recent BC cinematic release has me VERY excited about the expansion. A lot is riding on it, i believe. Each of the three points i made above refers to things rectified and/or cause by the expansion. It's very big.
Right now the transition period we're in is incredibly unstable. The DPS buffs mixed with the lack of stam buffs to match makes PvP a very lopsided affair. It's very very messy, and i don't blame anyone for a second for not finding this patch period less than fun. But to not want to pick up WoW again when the expansion comes out? That i cannot understand. If people are quitting because of something arising from this pre-BC/post-patch insanity... well that in itself is insane.
Weak threats with no basis. Shaman and Warriors still need more buffs though >_>
