WoW Moviewatch: Alterac Valley - The Reckoning
As easy as it is to win an Alterac Valley match using nothing more than a straightforward zerg, it's rare to see any of the turnin required NPCs spawn in the course of a game. Ever wondered what it might be like to spend the time and make use of every single powerup available to your faction? These guys have done the wondering -- and the working -- for you. However, I'd still like to know how long it took them...!

all it really shows is just what a travesty blizz turned AV into. i actually enjoyed 4-14 hour epic battles. now, there really is no point to any of it.

I was in a 3+ hour epic AV on Frday and we actually won because of spawning the riders and Lok at the same time and riding their carnage all the way to Van.
If your opponents are turtling, it's really an excellent way to break their defense.

I'm a bit conflicted about the new AV. Being stuck at Stormpike Bridge without moving an inch for four hours was very tedious and mentally exhausting. But there's something deeply wrong about being able to solo a tower or a graveyard. Or if you are not disturbed, the whole base.
Old AV lacked the sense of accomplishment because there wasn't usually any. The fight had been going on for hours when you joined, and would go on for hours after you left, usually with no progress. And in new AV there's no sense of accomplishment either, because progressing is so easy. Let one guy through and you lose two graveyards and two towers very quickly.

From a horde perpective, it's not even worth it to work to win AV anymore. Any AV over 20 minutes is honor inefficient. It's better to kill npc's and take towers and then lose in a short amount of time than spend twice the time defending and winning the game. The difference in honor is minimal and not worth the time taken.

The new Alterac Valley is stupid,I won several BG without fighting against a single player of the horde.

Well, i think it's interesting, but maybe you put some more info about your own experience? Thank you.

Heh, it's funny, back in the day we used to always use these guys to break the Alliance on the bridge, this video only shows me something which was common place back then. I stopped playing for a year and now I'm very casual so haven't even got around to playing the new AV yet, but it sounds like they've taken the fun out of it.

LOL, I was one of the AFK'ers
Good job though, pretty awesome

Remember the days of the goblin shredders and summoning Korrak the bloodrager in av? Good times.. i don't really see anything new in this video though. We've done the same thing quite a few times in the past week (horde). Though I was surpised to see that most of the players in the AV had never seen the stuff before.
Too bad the video doesn't show Lok in all his 50 yard tall, glory though, he's still a wee one in this vid.. didn't have any allies to kill I guess.

It looks like they had no resistance whatsoever...kinda anti-climactic.
Horde need to win AV sometime though.

I've been on both sides of the fence and horde have it much harder. Even worse now with the new AV. I too preffer the older epic battles. And yes, between the bat rider bombing the hell out of the base, the wolf riders smashing their way past stormpike grave yard and over the biggest choke point in all of AV...The Bridge...
It was the final push that could make or break the win.
To bad they took out the goblin npc guy. The one you had to rescue from the trolls. Was funny watching him on his machine wrecking folks. In some of the battles Lok would be summoned over and over. Now a days in av's people don't even bother. Unless you are working on faction, you hardly see people do all the turn ins or getting the supplies/hides. And when they do they get yelled at for not helping. The irony being that they are helping indirectly.
Wishful thinking: they restore av back to how it was. Maybe not as hard with the npcs having a million hp and all, and have them give honor points. I wouldn't even mind putting that huge troll back at snow fall and horde/allies having to fight for it.
oh well. I guess with av marks needed for pvp items.. its not going to happen. /sigh
