Forum Post of the Day: Westfall
.jpg)
This forum thread isn't particularly long, but it is actually useful, and prompts some additional thought and discussion. Imagine that! The original poster, Revelatia from Demon Soul, complains that he/she is ready for Westfall too soon after running out of quests in Elwynn. Level 9 questing in Westfall? Not much fun. To my surprise, instead of incredibly stupid responses and sarcastic "NOOB!" replies, Revelatia spurs a good conversation on Alliance-side low-level questing. Even Drysc gets in on the action. Some of the replies include...
- Bouncing back and forth between other starting areas. I do this a lot myself. I do all the low-level quests in Loch Modan, roll into Westfall around level 13 and then quest and grind myself all the way up to level 17 or so before I start looking for new adventure.
- Make sure you do ALL the quests in Elwynn. This includes the farm quests in the South and the logging camp quests in the East.
- You could do some of the higher-level quests in Dun Morogh. I have to admit, I tend to avoid Dun Morogh. Too much running in my opinion.

Ive noticed the same problem for elfs. I can run through like 80% of the quests up til darnassus. By that time i'm lvl 12-15 rng. (ive made a few elfs :p) Then i go to astranaar and the quests are to hard usually. The mobs are either my level or a bit higher. I found myself grouping with random people for half of those quests.
Their seems to be a big gap from lvls 9-12(min). Its not a big problem... but if you dont know their is another side of the world with easier mobs then your in trouble :p (i didn't know i could get to the eastern side until i was 17)

Westfall is good for one thing. Small eggs! Right now I'm selling them for 1.5g per stack of 5. Everyone wants them for the Great Father Winter cookie turn-in. And since I can farm 100 of em in about an hour, ho ho ho!

Make sure you've done all the quests in Goldshire, Eastvale Logging Camp, Westbrook Garrison, and that guy on the bridge near Eastvale.
When leveling any character, I usually try to finish the firsts quests no earlier than halfway through level 5. I've always found that I'm usually set after that for continuing to advance. Usually hit Westfall at about 11 or 12.

Well I heard from my friend who's playing BC atm that there are so many quests that you dont run out and the grinding-quest xp-earning ratio is tweaked so that questing is more rewarding (or maybe grinding is less so... /cry).

IMO, Elwynn sucks with running. Alot. More than Dun Morogh. Atleast there I can cycle around the area for quests. In Elwynn it's "Run to the far east. Good. Now run to the very south. Then come back."
In Dun Morogh I can pretty much go in circles, town south west north, back to town.
Then again, I don't really care anymore since I switched to Horde. Barrens FTW.

Leveling my first second char I also ran into this problem. I did all the quests and Elwynn Forest is just not enough. You run into Westfall underpowered. I actually grinded a bit for XP (horror!). I might be because if you know what you are doing you can get to that point in a few hours and thus you are not rested. If you take your time (ie a few days) the rested state will boost you a level or 2.
