WoW Blog Roundup: Holiday edition

What brings holiday cheer all year round? How about the WoW community? For sure!
- The Escapist brings us an excellent article by Michael Zenke in which he describes his disappointment upon returning to World of Warcraft for the holidays. His sad tale is complete with a lack of holiday spirit as well as a guild that has been blown to pieces. Merry Christmas!
- Mommy, what is that tiger doing to that reindeer? Maybe you don't want to know. AgentMichi from WoW_Ladies has some amusing screenshots of some great World of Warcraft graphical bugs.
- Not Addicted has some shopping tips for those of us looking for a last-second present. No, not from Target or Macy's, rather, from the fine stores inside Azeroth. How about some goggles for dear Aunt Trudy?
- Finally, Tobold gives us an early gift with his outlook on World of Warcraft in 2007. Not really so much from a gameplay standpoint, but rather from a business and subscriber point of view. As usual, Tobold makes some good points, and contends that 2007 will be WoW's peak year, and while it will still be millions of members strong, 2007 might be the summit of Warcraft's popularity.

I disagree with Tobolds comments that 2007 will be Warcrafts pinnacle year.
Going by how burning crusade is coming along (I am a beta tester), and the type of content is being released, I think it will show a steady increase in overall subscribers for the next 5 years.
All future game content will be equal to or better than Burning Crusades. There was a blue blizzard post a while back about the "State of the Game". It commented how Blizzard was "Blind Sided" by the popularity of the game and had severe growth problems and the resources they initially wanted was not utilized to the fullest extent on game expansion content. We saw alot, but we will see more. It further went on to discuss, how over the Summer of 2006, Blizzard was going through a massive revamping, expanding employment, and upgrading virtually all of its hardware. Through this, it was noted by Blizzard, that there overall goal was to have a steady stream of new content for ALL player types (solo, group, raiding)with a Burning Crusades sized expansion coming out at the rate of one per year.
Personally, I am excited. FInally we have a gaming company, with the cashoola and an ear to what the general public wants in a game, and will deliver a sound quality product either through Warcraft or a possible side venture in the far future.... World of StarCraft?
