AddOn Spotlight: EquipCompare

From the "Should-be-in-the-default-UI" department, I humbly present to you: EquipCompare. This is one of those addons that I've been using for so long, and that feels so natural, that I honestly forget it's a mod at all. What it does: every time you mouse over a piece of equipment, the mod displays a tooltip next to the item's tooltip showing what you're currently wearing in that slot. That sounds a bit complicated, but trust me, it's totally not. (In the screenshot, for instance, I'm mousing over a Twilight Cultist Robe while wearing a Robe of Volatile Power (because Golemagg just refuses to drop my Robes of Prophecy).) As soon as you start playing with it you'll wonder how you ever got along without it. It's updated for WoW 2.
Download it at Curse or your favorite mods site.
[Thanks, Ethan!]

It... uh... IS in the default UI. I think.

@1: Nope, I just turned off EquipCompare, logged in, and moused over the Cultist robe in my bag, and didn't get a tooltip for the robe I was wearing. So I think I can say with some confidence that the mod is what's giving me the comparison tooltip that I so love.

equipcompare is a godsend.
the default setup is a little "in the way" for me, by doing a:
/eqc control
you can specify that it only shows whatever you're currently wearing whenever you hold down control. works with chat links, works in the AH, works in AtlasLoot.
blizz. put it in there and give this guy free gametime or soemthing.

EqCompare (Ace2) > Equipcompare. Equipcompare has a bug that sometimes keeps showing you a different item equipped - happened to me whenever I 'compared' more items in a row. EqCompare works without flaws - you can get it at www.wowace.com like all other Ace2 addons.

I believe it is in the default UI in a few places, most notably when shopping, with a vendor or the AH. But the cool thing about this addon is that the compare shows up everywhere, even in a bag.
I could be wrong-- maybe another one of my addons compares stuff for me at the AH. But I believe it is the standard UI.

I dont have this addon and I still get the two tooltips on mouseover on armour/weapons.
Not sure if its in the standard UI but it might be in enhanced tooltips that comes bundled with Auctioneer.

@6 I think it is the Auctionner that is providing it for you. I too have it now, but lost it when the 2.0 hit the streets. It magically reappeared when I installed Auctioneer (first mod I could find at the time).
