Breakfast Topic: Wishlist

2006 was a year of much change for our favorite MMO, from patch 1.9 through 2.0.1 (not to mention the BC beta). Here's a quick rundown:
- 1.9 saw the first world event in the form of the opening of AQ. It also contributed further to server unification by linking auction houses. Paladin talents were updated.
- 1.10 gave us weather effects, new Priest talents, and Tier 0.5.
- 1.11 introduced Naxx, keyrings, nifty Mage talents, and a global LFG channel, which was quickly patched to default to off.
- 1.12 had cross-realm BGs, the EPL and Silithus PvP objectives, and new Rogue talents
- 2.0.1, as I'm sure you all know, was the day the add-ons died, honor got completely overhauled, and we all got shiny new abilities and talents to tide us over till the expansion.

1) I hope the new instances (what...12 or 14 of them?) retain their fresh smell after the first couple of outings in them.
2) I hope my raiding alliance will be able to do a full clear of Naxx in 2007.
3) I hope Warrior's get some loving.
4) I hope Blizzard continues to do the quarterly content patching - and the 1st one better include those instances not finalized in TBC.
5) I hope Blizzard improves on the LFG tool, implements something similar for the Trade channel, and allows more options for their default UI.
6) I hope the mod makers will have all my favorite mods finished by the end of this month - in particular Serenity.
7) I hope gold farmers are made extinct - I'm not holding much hope for this though.
8) I hope there's less QQing on the forums this year - again...little hope.
9) I do hope that we'll see some of the quests that had cliffhanger endings finished up - like, where's the King?
10) And lastly, I hope for peace on Azeroth!

customize armor colors
Call me nit-picky but I hate looking like a bargan-bin reject, with blue boots, red leggings, a gold chest piece and white shoulders, with a nice green cloak
I'd like to be able to customize the colors in my armor.
I would also like a way to build up my honor ranking again, I had just started getting into it before 2.0.1 and got up to Grunt, but since Blizzard never really made it clear on what exactly was going to happen, I stopped doing BG's since I thought it'd be more worthwhile to wait... not realizing there would no longer be a way to EVER get above my Grunt ranking :(

Yep honor ranking again rears its head thats a concern of mine having spent months of effort I worry about loosing it all.

What I really want is something that Blizzard can't really force into happening.
I want all the whiners, QQers and the like to SHUT UP. I want them to stop whining about their perception of class (im)balance. I want them to quit QQing about how their class isn't as powerful as they want. I want them to shut up about how 'blue doesn't get it', when they're not the game designers. They have no clue on what this game is supposed to be like; they need to stop acting like they do. Simple? Yes. Likely to happen? Nope, and that's sad.

More things that would help with RP: More items with good looks and low lvl required, books you can write ingame or something, revamp of Orgrimmar.
And I hope for better itemization in TBC for PvP and not the one-shotting it is at the moment. I think itemization went wrong after everything above Arcanite Reaper.
And I hope the next expansion will be about the South Seas, with Zandalar and Undermines etc.

I'd like to see Blizz finally realize that mages are no longer just "squishy", but completely helpless in any PvP environment. Our new elemental is a joke...it can't tank, can't hold aggro and only lasts 45 seconds. Compare this to the Warlock Felguard, which can tank, can hold aggro, has plentiful offense and defense, and lasts...well...forever.
Sure, if left alone, mages can do a lot of useful DPS, but in PvP mages are never left alone, and die immediately. Mages have essentially become a raid-and-PvE-only class, and that's sad.

Wait.. mages are helpless? Since when? Mages are physically weak and cannot handle melee damage, but that's how this caster class is; you get enough ranged advantages to make any melee class a living hell (on my rogue at least, getting fireballed/frostbolted for a non-crit 2-3k is a common occurance).
Anyway, what I hope for in 2007 is a return to a real game with the upcoming expansion; for a couple of months at least, it will not be about who's gone further in end-game epeen'ing and drama as we'll all be back to levelling and questing (for a while at least). This will be refreshing.
I welcome the changes Blizz has planned for instances, professions, and new content. A whole new continent to explore, new mobs and new quests; I took a break from raiding end-game with the grand exile that happend in late Fall (with so many players just suspending their sub until BC, making it hard to fill a 40-man on a regular basis). I'm also curious to see what will happen to current end-game joints like AQ40 and Naxx, I hope it won't get trashed or otherwise completely abandonned by players who will hit Outland the minute they reach lv60.
Here's to a successful expansion! I can't wait to Jan 16th, and happy new year everybody!

@7: Spec Arcane. Come to the light.

My wishlist?
1. Elimination of Whorde premades of AB and WSG.
2. Fear actually breaking on damage.
3. A lombotomy of every Whorde player that's going to roll a Poser Pally in the expansion, thinking they're gonna be better than Alliance paladins because of overrated racials.
4. PvE and raid abilites for Shamans.
5. Oh! As for the non-playstyle wishes: A continuation of the Missing King of Stormwind quest line.
6. A conclusion to the Essence of Eranikus(sp) quest chain.
7. A slightly more forgiving curve to get rep on the way to exalted with people like the Brood of Norzdomu and the like.
Not too unreasonable a list, if I do say so myself. :)

I wish they would bring back the Honor rankings. But keep the new system. And make it like a milestone... 100000 honor pts (over time not that you have on hand) gets you like staff seargent (i dont know wats high or low sry)
But ill be a lvl 60 corporal... which really sucks to me. I know that I could have obtained a much higher rank if only given some time.
Ive only been around 5 wks now... but that change ruined alot for me pvp wise. Pvp is already hard enough playing with the alliance. Too lose the honor of getting a title like that really sucks.

Bring back the old Honor system. The new one SUCKS!!
Westrunner Jan 1st 2007 4:19PM
-Changeable ingame appearance-
I'd love to get rid of some old haircolors, have my UD develop a new disease, have my gnome tan, Perhaps even an arcane sex change option. I am sick of playing as a female character, it was worn on me, although the idea of my guildies knowing I'm an online undead transexual? Creepy.
-Emote improvements: Tons more please-
In short, I want Warcraft to be the sims. How sad am I?
shizlak Jan 1st 2007 6:29PM
Hero Classes.
Flying Mounts usable in the current world. Yes i know this requires the game to be heavily revamped. Blizzard is making millions of dollars a month from us.. Hire people and get it done.
Shat Jan 1st 2007 10:48PM
an improvement to the LFG system. I'm getting tired of this shit.
hpavc Jan 2nd 2007 4:48AM
I wish we could get married in game, /sigh ... lol. But seriously besides fixing priest and warrior talents. I would like to see:
* a larger quest log, scales by level
* leader world pvp kills have a chance of dropping that leaders mount (oh yeah, gimme that mecha-strider) to bring some spice back to world pvp
* heroic mode, or similar, for all instances
* guild system needs a kick in the ass, the system lends itself to many problems. needs to be a little more intergrated like darkfall.
* choose which /silly you want to say /silly 4 or something
* rested xp for fishing :)
Methusal Jan 2nd 2007 11:19AM
Dancing to be a secondary profession- I want to learn to hammerdance.
Duane E Jan 2nd 2007 12:53PM
Agree with LFG improvements as well as a scalable quest log by level.
Currently, my biggest request would be:
SV pages to stack!
SexualChoc Jan 2nd 2007 1:18PM
@ 12: I so agree. I could see Barbers popping up in Stormwind who would charge a nominal fee to redo your characters looks. Maybe have a Shadow Priest in the corner who performs a 'face melting' and reconstructs your face to what you want. Ah, we can dream!
Also, Bliz, make Blessing of Kings a core spell! As much as the Prot tree got buffed, I still think it would be nice to have a core spell.
Oh and guild housing.
Todd Jan 2nd 2007 1:39PM
IMO Critical
40-man raid content. I know this isn't everyone's cup of tea but our guild loves it. We have a blast and its a bit disrespectful to those people who invested a little bit more time in the game building large, healthy guilds to spontaneously cut out new 40-man content.
Smarter Tradeskill Sorting. More options, more meaningful results. Let us sort our own databases for christs sake.
Variable battleground maps for each BG.
Non-Critical fun stuff.
Player housing. Guild housing. Guild reputations. Faction Switching options. Cross-faction guilding.
