Exalted with Exodar?

Everyone's trying to get a jump-start on preparing for the Burning Crusade, whether it's by getting new PVP gear, finding a leveling guild or gathering all your jewelcrafting mats. Some people take the phrase "getting a jump-start" a bit farther than others, though -- like the members of the Exalted with Exodar Club.
Yes, these brave souls have gotten exalted with the Draenei faction so they can get the Draenei elekk mounts as soon as Burning Crusade hits. And since you can't get Exodar faction by doing runecloth turn-ins, they did it the hard way, by grinding turn-ins in AV that raised their rep with all Alliance cities. Warla, a warlock from the Dragonmaw server, got Exodar as her twentieth exalted faction. Holy magoley, Batman! I can't even imagine the /played it takes to get that.
There are a couple Horde who have posted about being exalted with Silvermoon City, but not nearly as many as on Alliance. Maybe the Horde are all busy PVPing, or the hawkstriders are just uglier than the elekks, or (my theory) the Horde generally can't win at AV enough to do this.
Whether you consider getting exalted with the new factions on live to be genius or crazy, you've got to admit it's an interesting way to pass the time until the expansion.

I just cried
I'm kinda impressed...
and I kinda feel bad for the guy/girl... so much time spent playing
How do you kill what has no life?

Seeing the rate at which you gain rep by just doing low-level quests (lowbie Darnassus quests give equal Exodar rep), I doubt grinding AV is the fastest way to do it (it does get you exalted before release date, though). I suspect just doing Alliance or Exodar quest in the Outlands and/or the new starting areas may turn out to be much easier.

Ahh again the masses of the ignorant file in to give their .02 cents.
AV turn-ins don't require you to actually win the AV to earn the rep, as you turn them in during the match not afterward.
Also I think it goes without saying that if you're driven to get max rep the fastest way is in AV by turning in quest objectives. Of course that does require you to loot corpses.

Turn in quests in AV? I guess I'll have to play defense then.. *sigh*
and I must say, to their defense... They were already marshal before the PVP change, so they had to fill all the new non PVP time with something. :)

If you're farming up honor for gear and you're in AV, it's a very very good idea to have a mod that'll keep track of the stuff you loot (always autoloot EVERY player corpse that you possibly can, and autoloot so you get all the loot and someone doesn't ninja it out from under you). I use a mod called "Capping" that'll even semi-automate the turnin process so you only sit there and repeatedly rightclick the guy to turn your stuff in.
You get 19 "horde" points per 5 Blood (or whatever it is for Alliance) and this is what you're looking for. Armor is nice but low. Wing Commanders almost never make it. Blood is where it's at. Even playing maybe 2-3hrs 5 nights a week SHOULD get you well into revered without a ton of effort. Just figure out at whatever point the battle is almost over and trinket back to your base. You'll die almost instantly because you always spawn in a mass of alliance, but you can run from the cave to the Primalist really quickly and get your stuff turned in before the BG ends if you manage to do it when they start on Drek. (I don't know how it works for alliance really).
That combined with the 6-7 quests that give 400+ rep with the Blood Elves that are really simple to finish, should get you to exalted in a few weeks. Obviously it's a little late to start now... but it was a good idea to do if you figured it out the day after the patch hit. If you get started now though, there's a decent chance you might be able to do all the 1-20 quests and get enough rep to finish up with Exalted relatively quickly when the expansion comes out though I bet.

I usually start out on offense, then half way through the battle when i have a ton of bag space with scraps and orbs TP back to Dun Baldar for turn in then play defense. It works great for honor and reputation

just loot storm crystals off of the corpses of players who get killed. turn them in. get 20 rep per.
guy in my guild got exalted a few weeks back. i decided to hold off (hate playing defens ein AV) and will just turn in 600 stacks of runecloth on the first day (for my 19th exalted -- just never had the heart to do that damn wintersaber grind.)

The question is why? Is there not going to be a PvP mount for the new races? That takes practically no time, I'm at something like 100 av, 69 ab and 64 wsg marks after only buying like 4 pvp items (which have cost me 20 av, 100 ab and 30 wsg marks combined, not to mention probably near 50-70 each av and ab tokens that have rotted in my mail in the last week or so)
I'll just pick up the PvP version (but like my frostwolf howler, I won't be able to ride it 'til I finally pony up for the riding skill)

Aye, it is once in every 1000 blue moons that Horde wins AV.
But anyway, who can spend THAT much effort getting the rep. AV queues are minumum 40 minutes. The math is astounding.
And I thought I had no life.
Hotstreak Jan 6th 2007 9:55AM
@12
40 min queus for AV!!??!? i'd hate to be on your server, on Ursin the normal AV queue is under 30 seconds.
Therizo Jan 7th 2007 4:32AM
Alliance or Horde? on our battlegroup AV ranges from 50 minutes during the week to 2 hours on a non-AV bonus weekend, alliance side. hordeside it's never over a minute or so. even on bonus weekends our queues for WSG or AB don't get below 15 mins or so. Waiting sucks, but so it goes when you have 3x as many alliance as horde across the group.
Axezeris Jan 9th 2007 7:19PM
Woo! Good ol' Dmaw! GO us!
Clementure Jan 8th 2007 5:59PM
Don't really need the quest turn-ins for AV rep. In about three weeks of AV grinding I've gone from neutral to about five bars away from exalted. The rep clicks up faster than the cost at the gas pump.
