Your class sucks in the expansion (a compedium of BC complaints)
.jpg)
Yes, according to the fountain of positivity that is the Burning Crusade beta forums, your class is terrible in the expansion. Why would anyone bring any of your class? You're only a liability to the group. Your class will be entirely replaced by another, similar, but much better class in every raid and small group. Give up and reroll. Don't reroll to that class! That class sucks too! Now you've done it.
Specifically, your class sucks for these reasons.
- Druids, your tree form is one of the worst ideas ever conceived. Everyone hates you because you can tank now. Moonkins will be useless in parties, but that's okay because you'll be forced back to healing at 70.
- Hunter traps are completely useless in PVP. You can't find any good quest rewards while leveling. Aimed shot doesn't scale anymore and you're just horribly broken in general.
- Mages are getting out-DPSed by shadow priests. Your invisibility is only good as wipe recovery. Your 41-point talents are mediocre and you are gimp enough for a six-page thread with little elaboration.
- Paladins: much like druids, everyone hates you because you can tank now. Your Tier 5 looks very girly. You are neutered in PVP. You are gimped in PVE if you're retribution specced. Your raid leader will force you to spec Blessing of Kings anyway.
- Priests are sinking into despair that they're forced to wear 3-piece Transcendence forever. Druids and paladins heal better than you, and are better at supporting the raid. Go melt faces, choirboy.
- Rogues will do nothing in raids. NOTHING! You don't scale well at 70. Shadowstep is funny but useless. All your casters hate you because of Cloak of Shadows and won't heal you in raids, and your hunters are plotting to kill you.
- Shaman, your Totem of Wrath isn't worth the 41 points and elemental DPS is bad. You are 100 percent terrible, the joke of WoW and you just suck.
- Warlock's Felguard is worthless now and you will be killed by rogues. Other than that, there aren't many complaints .... from warlocks, that is. Guess you really are overpowered!
- Warriors have too many complaints to list here. Druids and paladins tank better than you, and if you think your DPS is okay, you're just "jelous". Will the last warrior on the forums please turn out the light?
Let's be honest - if every class sucked as much as forumgoers tell us they suck, every instance group would be composed of three warlocks, a pet rock, and an NPC. But do you think any of these complaints are valid? What are you worried about for your class in the Burning Crusade?

We Warlocks are NOT overpowered! i mean you have like 12 seconds to kill us and find a preist to heal you before our dots kill you, that plenty of time compared to the rogu who comes up and kills you in 3 seconds flat.

That got a nice chuckle out of me; nerf everybody and everything but ME!! :D

Like any other changes in World of Warcraft, people will scream and cry until 2-3 weeks in when they figure out how to adapt to the changes.
Some changes are long-term, like the Rogue/Caster DPS gap. These will no doubt be addressed if there is an obvious gap in DPS on the trek from 60-70. Things will get buffed and nerfed as necessary.
Not that the beta's coming along perfectly and fairly, but pessimism is to be expected when you toss tons of "experts" into a beta and they're not performing as well as they'd hoped.

If everyone sucks couldn't that mean it is balanced?

My favorite type of comment:
"This skill doesn't work very well. Therefore, the entire class is worthless."
Dannimus Maximus Jan 7th 2007 2:29PM
All of this is largely untrue as I've seen. Everyone is ok. ALthough, warriors did get royally screwed, this from a hunter's viewpoint. And locks... they've needed a good nerfing for ages, it'll never happen. Lock Strategy: Fear, dot, run.

actually warlocks got a pretty sizeable nerf on beta recently (with the +dmg modifiers to DOTs being reduced to below 2.0 levels.)
they still are a pretty overpowered class in the right hands though -- allthoguh, from what i've seen in pvp, hunters terrorize warlocks more than rogues these days.

Man, whoever says that hunters cannot use traps in combats should be dragged out into the street and shot.

This is why I don't read the forums. These kinds of things are both humorous and annoying at the same time. This is why I firmly believe that other people's opinions really don't matter all that much on the interwebs.

This is my favorite post on this site ever. :)

I don't understand the whining about Druid Tree of Life. I suspect that the people calling it horrible haven't taken the time to figure out how to use it right. Or maybe they just lack the brainpower LOL!
No, you can't spam HT4 anymore. No, you are not a very good single target healer anymore. You are a GOD of heal over time when used on mulitple targets.
If your guild's Tree Druids are not owning the heal meters, and your guild hasn't noticed a pretty significant improvement in healing as a result of the trees, you are doing it wrong. Tree of Life is the closest thing to being overpowered that resto Druids have ever had. The trees in my guild are pumping out a LOT more effective healing than Druids ever have been able to.

This post was fun.
That being said, there are legitimate complaints in there. Warrior tanking is bad, Blizzard themselves have posted saying its not scaling as intended and will be fixed.
Priests have a 1000 post thread of feedback on the live forums, and are at it again now that they're the least played class in the Alliance (and almost the least played class in the Horde). There's good reason for it. Circle of Healing really is awful. PW:S is becoming useless because it doesn't scale. In a raid setting you can actually kill a tank by using PW:S instead of Flash Heal, despite the spells having the same base numbers. Shadow Priests are awesome, Holy needs serious fixing.
Oh, and they responded to the Warlocks complaining about the Felhunter by buffing its armor back up. :)

3 piece trans has been nerfed to a meer 20 mana per 5 seconds. It is no where near required anymore.

The comment about warriors and priests being out classed by druids and paladins is simply not true, while each class has been buffed in those respective roles, it does not mean that they will replace them.
A feral druid can out agro a warrior by a reasonable margin, but a warrior has more forms of control, the number of sunders stacked up can show the rest of the group/raid how much agro has been built up, they also have hamstring, concussion blow and shield bash etc etc to not only tank the mob, but effectively control it whereas druids get bash and feral charge if they can back away fast enough.
Where healing is concerned, "druid dude" makes a fair comment, with tree form we are no longer single target healers, we help keep the rest of the raid topped up while the priests concentrate on the MTs, our aura (which stacks btw) also buffs the priests towards that end.
With the changes that have been made, no single class is best at one thing, people who want it that way are just selfish, they want their class to be the only one to be able to do it, so everyone else is just a 2ndary class, do rogues and mages complain about eachother because they each have a form of crowd control? Do 'locks and priests complain about eachother because they can both fear?

Hate to be a grammar nazi, but the plural of shaman is shaman. You DO want to write as professionally as possible, don't you?
Otherwise, great post! You obviously worked very hard to research all those links. Thank you!

Nice work.
Kwipper Jan 7th 2007 11:52PM
It seems that the majority of these complaints are PvP related. Well I have a solution to them all! DO NOT PvP! This game would probably be better if you didn't have players trying to kill each other all the time. There are quests out there, there are raids out there.
Ramon Jan 8th 2007 2:13AM
Kwipper,
That is the silliest comment I've ever heard. Perhaps some of us didn't enjoy spending four hours pushing the same 4 key while watching TV. Perhaps wow becoming more PvP oriented is what we've always wanted.
Vlads Jan 9th 2007 3:47PM
Who caress what a forum writer says, just buy the game and play it, I will be a warrior... :-( the best of the rest
Deusirae Jan 8th 2007 11:02AM
My Ret. Pally kicks butt (PvP and PvE), my Rogue stabby-stabs godly dps, my Hunter shoots people down in PvP, and my Warlock will melt faces before they even get a chance to see me laughing at them (don't nerf me)...I think there are a lot of players that suck at playing their class, and that is why there is so much whining going on. Try to learn new tactics and how to better use your class instead of just giving up on it. The ONLY class that has anything to complain about it the Warrior...sorry guys, I hope Blizz fixes you.
