Problems appearing in 2.0.3
2.0.3 doesn't seem to have as many problems as 2.0.1 did, but there's at least a few going around. The first is more of a problem players are having-- the actual code is "working as intended." More than a few players were distraught to note that crowd control trinkets like the Tidal Charm are now "fizzing out after level 60," according to the tooltips. Drysc says about what you'd expect: that this kind of stuff is part of the CC nerfing going on, and that the trinkets coming in BC will make your eyes pop out of your head anyway. Tough luck, basically.
There's a few known bugs going around, however. One a lot of people are dealing with is that the default target frame-- the little portrait of your target next to yours-- is disappearing. One small fix is simply typing /console reloadui: that seems to bring it back up for a bit, but it usually drops away again. It's definitely a repeatable bug, though, so hopefully a word from Blizz is forthcoming.
Another known bug leads to issues changing and promoting raid leadership and main looters. Blizz acknowledges they're working on this one. Meanwhile, Kelriia over on LJ supposedly has a fix: either type /promote [name of leader][last letter of leader's name] , or /script PromotetoAssistant [name and last letter again]. Not sure if anyone else has tested those (or why you'd have to include the last letter repeated), but if it works, there you go.
A few people are complaining that their addons aren't loading-- here's a quick reminder that after a patch, you have to go to the addon screen and actually check "Load out-of-date Addons." Worked for me.
And finally, just a personal disappointment, being a Shaman:

The bug I experienced yesterday was the old log in dialog after a crash "A character by that name already exists". I had to log in on an ALT and wait 10 minutes for my main to be booted off so I could log back in.

I also got weird icons for loot (cheese appearing as copper coins, potions as runes, swords as swiftness) and occasionally a mob would reposition while in combat but the toon would stay (and die) in its original location. This is problematic since if the mob itself dies too far from its original position the body and the loot will be too far away to be consolidated and you'll get the "too far away" error.

For you Warlocks out there - there's two things.
1) They fixed the Tainted Blood - Felhunter training bug...so go grab that grimoire and train your puppy.
2) There's a bug with Abyss Shard that they're working on - if you use it with no pet, it says Invalid Target and won't cast. Just summon your imp, then use it - it should work then.

Totemic Call wasn't in the patch notes, but its at your local Shaman trainer...

We were having problems with anything requiring targeting. Although 1st 3 letters of your teammates name tended to work more often than not.

Sadly, they fixed my favorite bug ever -- which I'd never heard discussed before. Inner Focus was not used up when casting any kind of Spirit Buff. So you could hit Inner Focus, then Prayer of Spirit and Prayer of Fortitude... all with no mana cost! Pretty sweet, but now it's history.
Alas!

Playing my lvl 12 NE Hunter... I would send my pet and initiate ranged attack, gain too much aggro and pull the mob and enter melee (automatic, thanks to last patch), but when I wing clip and kite and pet re-aggros I wouldn't auto shoot with my bow anymore, even after firing off a ranged spell. He would just sit there with his dagger out. Didn't happen every time, but more than once, and after a server crash I logged with my 57 orc hunter on a different server and didn't have that problem again.

"occasionally a mob would reposition while in combat but the toon would stay (and die) in its original location"
I've always had this problem with WOW, i didn't know this was a patch problem.
I've had no problems, other than the usual patch day add-ons fight.

Note: If you use the Call of Elements mod, getting the Totemic Call spell breaks the mod.
But the spell itself rocks. You don't have to be anywhere near the totem to recall it.

One major problem I'm having on my powerbook G4 1.5Ghz, as are many other mac users, is strange artifacts dancing all over the screen. It looks like it's only on PPC macs but it really makes the game unplayable.

Razorgore is currently bugged, orcs still keep spawning in phase 2, helpful for bringing him down, but it made loot distribution VERY interesting.

Has anyone been able to summon an Abyssal Elemental using the Lesser Wind Stones out in Silithus since patch 2.0?
Swiftlydead Jan 10th 2007 1:49PM
as for the Mac users -- what do you expect when running PC games on a Mac?? Mac's are horrible at that shit.
Anyway, my biggest disappointment's is that you can't jump over the left WSG gate before the game starts anymore! I was looking forward to causing much hilarity by doing so!

I've been having problems with my "target" UnitFrame not showing up all the time when I switch from a friendly unit to a hostile one in combat. Need to do more testing to figure out when exactly it's happening though.

And just a note for all the rogues your next level evasion awaits you at the trainer
chronnick Jan 10th 2007 2:19PM
Of course, as soon as I posted this comment I read on wowwiki.com that they had fixed that bug in this patch.

LOL @ SwiftlyDead
It's not a "PC Game"; it's a computer game. If it was a "PC Game" it wouldn't have Minimum requirements and recommended requirements on the box for Mac's. (Which it does have those requirements on the box.)

What's driving ME batty is that the sound is completely fubarred now! Whatever they did to the sound system has ruined it. Aside from the issue they've confirmed where any setting except the leftmost two on the Sound Channels slider will break all sound from the game, a lot of sounds are being drowned out while others are louder than ever. You can barely hear your own footfalls while those of an NPC ten feet away deafen you. Of course, you're lucky to hear any of that over the non-3D sounds and music, which have gotten louder. The bug seems particularly exacerbated by turning on Hardware Acceleration. (Which is odd, since it is used to be ALWAYS on.) Even mounting my precious, new, 600g epic mount doesn't solve it! His hoofsteps are silent!

There's a bug in battlegrounds where people can cap flags from 30-40 yards away. Makes defense pointless
gamerz22 Jan 10th 2007 2:32PM
@Ollej - It is a PC Game, however. Though, there is a MAC version, which is the difference. I'm assuming you did know this and grabbed the MAC version, right? At least with the Burning crusade, they've said that it will be compatible with both PC and MAC, thus no need for seperate versions.
Also, a PC Game is a computer game. It is just labeled PC as Windows is more popular than MAC. Though many of the gamer market are starting to switch to MACs, MAC is still not as popular/used as Windows.
