Beyond Scarab Lords and Grand Marshals

As you may or may not know, the people who rang the gong to open the gates of Ahn'Qiraj now have the option of displaying a "Scarab Lord" title before their name. This goes nicely with their shiny black bug mounts. In the Scarab Lord thread, Nethaera says that Blizzard intends to implement new titles for Arena winners and other extraordiniary Azerothians.
Phunbaba of Perenolde makes some serious suggestions for new titles, including Sir/Lady (if you've killed every PVE boss in the game), Cruel (if you've killed 5,000 critters) and Fortunate (has looted 20 world epic drops.) Later on, the suggestions get sillier, with Sushi Lord (murloc killing) and Iron Chef (cooking skill) mentioned. I have a few less-than-serious suggestions of my own:
- Bondbreaker, for anyone who's been cited as the cause of breakup for five or more raiding guilds.
- Time Traveler, for anyone who still tells Chuck Norris jokes while leveling in the Barrens.
- Trendbuster, for female dwarf rogues.
- Mutineer, for anyone who's killed their guild leader more than 10 times in a raid by blowing him up on Baron Geddon, healing him on Nefarian's priest call, etc.
- War Profiteer, for anyone who actually sells a stack of Runecloth for a 99g buyout.
Can you think of some titles (serious or not so) that you'd like to see added in WoW?

@ #4 how about Explorer
Synik Jan 11th 2007 8:04PM
@5 - Cartographer? Explorer? Pathfinder? Pioneer? Take your pick ^_^
How about:
+'Flag Monkey' - Over 1000 flag caps in Warsong Gulch (Druids rejoice)
+'Vending Machine' - Conjured over 10,000 stacks of food.
+'Water Cooler' - Same deal, only with water.
+'Gankstar' - Killed 1,000 players who are at least 10 levels below you. Possibly with some kind of debuff / detrimental affect?
+'Troublemaker' - Killed 1,000 players whilst within the walls of a Neutral city.
+'Medic' - Resurrected over 200 players using Goblin Jumper Cables.
+'Health Hazard' - Had 500 backfires on Engineering devices.
+'Treasure Hunter' - Opened 2500 chests.
+'Clumsy' - Set off over 500 traps (PvE, not Hunter ones).
+'Coward!' - Had the 'Deserter' Debuff over 1000 times.
+'Victim' - Once had to face a Warlock in solo PvP.
+'Vendorstrike Abuser' - Didn't actually shard their Vendorstrike.
+'Gnome Punter' - Rolled a Tauren.
+'Ankle Biter' - Rolled a Gnome.
God, I could keep going all night with these.
Scone Jan 11th 2007 8:07PM

Ultima Online had titles based on your pursuance of the virtues. Lord and Lady, Dread Lord and Dread Lady of Mercy/Compassion/Justice etc
I think gear is a decent indicator of achievement, if titles ought to be awarded I'd rather they'd be for extraneous matters.
Of course, on an RP server there are loads of titles flying around and plenty of reputations made by players rather than by Blizzard.

Fishing contest winner.
However I'm not sure how i would feel about being labeled a master baiter.

I'd be happy to see the original PVP ranks purchasable with Honor/tokens. By the time I got comfortable with PVP and BG's, the ranks had gone away. Be nice to be able to actually pick up Knight Captain as a vanity rank for my Guildleader (nautically themed guild).

Go Phun your famous in the wow world now, go time for chilli phunbaba's newest guild. Looks uber cool as the only person in Perenolde with the only Outside AQ, AQ mount.

The Iron Chef one for the maxed out cooking skill wasn't even that bad. They could do that.
spek Jan 12th 2007 6:45AM
this title could be a workaround for those bots who earn honor without fighting about the title itself could be parasite or something
Lori Jan 12th 2007 10:27AM
"Rocket Surgeon" - 300 Engineering/300 First Aid
Ocsrep Jan 12th 2007 10:52AM
I like almost all of Synik's suggestions. Pretty funny, but Gankstar is the best. There's nothing better than playing your level 10 alt and watching ?? stop by to kill you, then body sit.
Deusirae Jan 12th 2007 11:54AM
Dora - Explored all maps
Barney Hunter - Killed 500 Devilsaurs
Pest Control - Killed 750 AQ bugs
Exterminator - Killed 2500 AQ bugs (high number because of the cool name)
Wiley Coyote - 500 failed engineer device uses (I know I stole the idea from Synik)
Wabbit Hunter - 1000 rabbits killed
He-Man - Human Warrior on ZG tiger mount
She-Man - Human Warrior riding epic Gnome mount
Buddy Screwer - Hunter who feigns death near the healer
Burger Flipper - Anyone who has killed over 1000 Tuarens
Veggie Burger - Tauren Druid
Bomberman - Successfully stuck on ceiling after Baron Geddon Bomb
Too easy, could go on forever...
