WoW Moviewatch: Mount up for Burning Crusade
Is it too late to get excited about spoilers from the Burning Crusade? If you don't want to see what all the mounts to come in Outland look like, don't watch this video. They've got everything, from the flying mounts to the Chocobos sorry, the Cockatrice sorry, the Hawkstrider. Common to epic, Griffon to Nether Drake-- watch at your own spoilery risk.
Of course this is clearly on a hacked server (we're not going to see mounts flying around IF, ZG, or TB for a long time), but it's still awesome. I can't wait to get my soon-to-be-created Blood Elf mage to 40, just so I can get me a non-mechanical birdie. WARK!

According to what I have read you can still mount your flying mount in Azeroth to ride around but you just can't fly with it.

Great video, but quite possibly the worst music ever. lol

Anybody know what that funky horse in the middle of the video was? It looked kinda like a cross between the Dreadsteed and the Paladin's armored horse.

Ok, can someone in the beta explain the difference between the Nether Drakes and the normal/epic flying mounts? Are the Drakes a temporary mount or a special loot/quest mount?

I was hoping to see the Talbuk included in the video. Oh well.

#2:
Nether drakes apparently fly faster (the epic flying mounts fly at 280%, it seems the drakes fly at 310%). We aren't entirely sure how to get the normal ones, though it seems from a quest in Shadowmoon Valley it is like the Winterspring Frostsaber. The armored netherdrakes will apparently be given to the top team in the arena every three months.

I forget the name, but that mount drops from Attumen the Hunter (or whatever his name is) in Karazhan, or so I hear.

@5: thanks for the info. One more question: if you get an armored Nether Drake, can you only use it while you are the top team for the next 3 months or is it a permanent reward?

Question:
Does anyone know if they are adding PVP hawkstriders and the elephant things? Just wondering if I need to hold out for my PVP Chicken or not....

@7
Yes, there are Black PvP models for at least Hawkstrider.
Can't say for Elekk

Are flying mounts only available to be summoned in Outland? I ask because in the video when they have a flying mount in non-Outland areas like IF or TB, it appears that you're just not able to control the altitude. They appear to just fall slowly until they hit the ground, so maybe it's not a hacked server and flying mounts are allowed in non-Outland areas but they only provide slow-falling in non-Outland areas...?
It would seem to make sense as such abilities are already available to different classes in the non-Outland areas, e.g. my priest can use 'levitate' in the same manner...

@9 If that holds true, you just made my day.
Kyle Jan 12th 2007 6:59PM
#6: Not sure, but I think you get to use it from that point on, even if you never touch the arena again.
#9: Can't use them at all in Azeroth, unfortunately.

Please move the camera more randomly, and faster. I'm not quite tossing my breakfast yet.
