I'm pretty merciless about my inventory management. My main is a warlock. I leveled the warlock all the way to 60 before the talent review, more importantly before soul shard bags were introduced to the game. Having to deal with 12 slot bags for a long time with one or two full of shards tends to teach inventory discipline quickly, especially since I was also a skinner. I like to think I've gotten pretty good at sorting out what's important to keep and what's important to ditch. I'm not very sentimental about it the time it took to get something, either. I've tossed a Rod of the Ogre Magi that it took me about 15 runs in Dire Maul to acquire and that I used for about 6 months in game. I tossed it 3 days after I got an Azuresong Mageblade, sold to help buy the materials for the enchant I had put on the 'blade. My one weakness however is the <Made By> tag. I remember Rev making me that bag. I remember farming the felcloth, making the mooncloth, and handing it all over so Rev could make me a bag for more soul shards. I also remember running out of shards in a Scholomance run, my first run there, with Rev as the healer. Rev, the crazily patient healer who kept the n00b warlock up somehow. The <Made By> tag is, simply, genius. It helps me remember good, fun times every time I hover over the bag display, and the chances of me ever feeling the need to ditch a 16 slot bag are very small, at least through the next couple of weeks. I think there will always be a bag <Made by Rev> sitting on my toolbar though, even with the new larger bags in the expansion.
What do you have with sentimental? Any neat crafted goods you keep just because of who made them?

when I first started leveling my main, arras (60 dwarf pally), a RL friend of mine and his wife, helped me with all of my westfall quests in one evening. It was a ton of fun. Right before we called it for a night, my friend logged into his 60 warrior and met up with me in westfall and gave me 5g and 3 runecloth bags (which i still have).
The gold and bags helped me in more ways than I thought possible. More inventory space meant I could pick up more vendor trash and the gold meant I could train my new spells right away and skill up my professions faster too.
The tag on the bags was my future GL's mage

I've got a nice little story.
When I was a noob Human Pally, in my first week of questing. I was trying to kill that named pig in Elwynn Forest and a really nice level 45 pally came to help me when I asked for help.
When we were done, he had answered a few questions I had about the game and pallies. And he proceeded to give me 4x [Traveler's Backpack]. At the time, I just said thanks, this will really help because of my constantly full inventory with the default backpack and 6 slot bag I had.
Little did I know how rare those backpacks are, and how much those things cost. I'm so thankful for them, now, but at the time I thought it was just alittle good deed.
I wish I could remember that pally's name, so I could thank him again, as I still have all of the traveler's backpacks because I manage my Inventory well and don't need any bigger bags. They weren't crafted, so they don't have the tag to help me out with that. I only wish they did.

Funny thing: My main got utterly destroyed by some china-hacker (I'd guess). Now all the "made by" things that got restored have no "made by" anymore! Quite fun if you happen to have some rather "rare" items.

Arras, must have been paying it forward. He is also a RL friend of my mine, and he is always willing to help out lower lvl players.

A guy named Priestheart on my server (Winderunner, A) owned every cloth pattern in the game and, i swear, he only came online to farm and craft. For him, the game was a matter of levelling to 60 so that he could get the nice cloth patterns.
To this day, even though he hasn't played since hurricane Katrina destroyed his house, I still see so many players with shirts . It's like a brand name on our server :)

It wasn't an item made, but a character that was made originally as a joke. One of my first guild's highly loved priest disappeared for a long time, no one knew what happened to her. So I made a character that looked identical to hers and the same class, named it the same with only a single character difference that wasn't noticable, and started playing, making people think I was her. So one day she logs on and hillarity ensude. She doesn't play anymore, but it was great times, and it was forever a long joke. I will never delete that character.

When I first got WoW, I had raised to level 14 or so, and was starting tailoring, selling shirts to people. I ended up selling a Blue Linen Shirt to a level six hunter.
Months later, I start playing WoW again. I realize that he's not only in my guild, but a friend of the guild leader. He's also still playing that char as his main.
...and he still has the shirt...

A gray vendor-trash flower from my now betrothed, then the guy I had a crush on.
Also, the mace from SM, ran with the same guy. *grin*

I had an [Admiral's Hat] made by someone that I kept for a long time - until she turned into a raving bitch, and then it was most fun to destroy it outright.

I remember getting a /w from a Druid one day saying that he'd heard that I could make the Hide of the Wild and was interested in purchasing one. I asked for 5g as a fee, which he accepted, and he proceeded to find me and hand over the mats.
While he's doing this I inspect him and lo and behold find that he's also wearing an Ironfeather Breatplate and Shoulders set that I'd made, AND the Wolfshead Helm that I'd made months ago (only bothered to farm the mats for one).
I'm just about to /w him about it when at that moment I recieve a /w from him saying 'Hey, you're wearing my stuff!'. A quick check revealed that I was wearing the Green Dragonscale chestplate and leggings that HE had crafted. I told him that he was also wearing my stuff and we laughed and had a nice little chat about how annoying skinning can be, especially in instances with other skinners. I took off the service charge because he'd given me such a funny memory, which is worth way more than 5g.
To this day I still have that set somewhere to remind me of that fluke meeting.

I was selling Helm of Fire on the Trade channel when someone whispered me that I should keep it because it's a nice helm. I told him I make them, so I already have one. Then he goes, "Damn, I just noticed that you made mine." That was funny.

I bought a Traveler's Backpack on the AH probably eight months ago while leveling. Recently, I saw the tag and it had been made by a RL friend of mine who is now my guild leader! I had no idea, and we both had a good laugh about it.
Now I'm sad that I'm an engineer and none of my items are usable by non-engineers. I guess I can still make squirrels for people =/
