Breakfast topic: How long til you hit 70?

By now many of you who already had level 60s have had a chance to gauge how fast your leveling process might go on the road to 70. So, let's hear it -- what are your predictions for how long it will take you to get to the new level cap? Or, if you've just rolled a new alt or character and plan to take it all the way to 70 -- how long do you expect to spend leveling up? Do you have any personal leveling goals you want to achieve?
Having been a member of a relatively hardcore raiding guild (almost every night towards the bitter end, when we disbanded "until the expansion") and knowing all too well how quickly "fun" can turn into "burnout," I plan to take my time leveling both my current 60 and my new blood elf alt (or alts... totally tempted to roll a draenei now, too). After taking a couple of months' worth of break from the game, I'm just happy to be back and enjoying the new content, and am avoiding setting any goals at the moment -- although I totally applaud those of you out there vying to be the first on your server to 70, or first in your guild, or what have you. So let us know -- how long will it take you to get to 70?
[Update: for some of you... not long!]

I'm with you, as long as it takes. Although can't deny the competitiveness in me wanting to race. It's somewhat an effort to remind myself the race isn't worth it.

On the wow forums last night (while the world servers where down), there appears to be people already at 68-69 AoE grinding elites with his gulidies by all accounts, so if you got friends about 24 hours?
Me about six months casual player.

I'm thinking six months as well. Casual Gaming ftw. To be honest people that just blow through the content don't really get to enjoy it. I'm not saying everyone has to take six months to grind ten levels, but if someone is 70 by the end of the week.... thats a bit extreme.

Someone dinged 70 in 28 hours. No idea how long I'll take, I have alts I enjoy playing as well.

I guess something between 3-4 weeks. Got two more level 60 alts I want to get to 70 as well though. I don't want to rush through it, gonna explore an enjoy the fun of finding things out myself rather than using guides or too many hints.

It takes 28h to that french mage to hit lvl 70. Of course he's in THE best european guild (millenium), it help a lot.
Like #1, I'm a casual with a "good guild" (3 raiding a week), one main, 1 alt (lvl 60) and a palanoob for fun (lvl 6) ... i think i will take me about 6 - 7 months to get to 70 with my main.
Nerf Girlfriend, mine is plying too, she'll probably hit 70 before me :s

I'd guess about 2 months or so. I hit 316 JC yesterday though :)
Dawmdt Jan 19th 2007 9:30AM
One of my guild-mates hit 64 yesterday so I'm guessing he'll be done sometime next week.
The rest of us will probably take our time though :P

I'm guessing 3 weeks for me if I don't screw around with my crafting professions or running dungeons that don't have quests involved. I'm a fast and efficient leveler when I get to it.
I have one guildmate at 62 already, he had a 68 in beta though. I have many others that hit 61 yesterday afternoon and are on their way to 62. Yes, we are a hardcore raiding guild. Though only about half of our main force is pushing the leveling.

I feel sad for those that feel a need to rush to 70 in a few days. What a waste of money and time, ignoring all the content just to get a 70 by your name when aoe grinding. What they gonna do now? Log off for two months until everyone catches up with them and starts raiding.
BC for me will be all about a slow and deliberate questing process. Taking in all the sites, sounds and professions along the way. I want to enjoy all the new stuff at a leisurely pace and milk the content for all it's worth. If I hit 70 inside a month I will be upset that I have missed something.

Personal goal is 66 by the 22nd and 70 by the 30th, but Im your hardcore raider type, I wanted to get back to raiding 6 nights a week. I know its not for everyone but its what I enjoy

It doesn't matter whether you hit 70 within a week or within a year. Most important thing is to enjoy the game with your friends.
If you enjoy quick leveling, do it. If you enjoy sightseeing, do it. Do not judge the order side.
Some ppl simply enjoy the quick advance, that's all. Nobody thought that a mere 28 hours will be sufficient for lvl70.
I think ppl are playing a game cos it's fun. If they're bored, they leave the game.
Ppl complaining ingame about being bored are either hired by a concurrent MMORPG game designer or they enjoy to complain and whine.

I've been playing since last march 06, and I'm only 47, so I think it's going to be a while....
andy Jan 17th 2007 9:03AM
ill get to 70 when im good and ready, for now im just enjoying the new content.
Ryan Jan 17th 2007 9:08AM
It took me about 12 hours to get to 61 yesterday, but I wasn't really going at it hardcore. A lot of that was exploring all the new regions, running from 68 elites, showing new people where things were, questing, and running some 5 mans. So I guess you could say I was enjoying it.
But yea, I would say for me, I will take around 3 weeks or so since I'm married and have a job. My evenings will be busy leveling, but oh well, it'll be a fun grind.
Kloud Jan 17th 2007 9:13AM
Well i started playing last night when i got home an played from 6:00pm until 1:30am. During that time i almost got 3/4 of a level. But i wasn't really paying attention to the exp bar and i dont really have any goals set. At the moment i'm just so happy to have new content and its kind of heralded the return of that fresh feeling... you know... the feeling an mood u had when u first played WoW. The intrigue of new quests, new instances, new phat lewt.
For e.g. I spent about an hour just riding around Hellfire Peninsula just to explore the whole region an look at the landscape (which is really impressive) before getting a group of friends together to try the HF Ramparts.
So in essence out of 10: levelling plans = 0
enjoying as much of the new content as possible = 10

I don't think yesterday is a good example due to just overcrowding. After wandering around for about an hour I started questing and got some nice greens(sheesh). In two hours I made about 4 bubbles so I think this will take awhile.
