Draenei have left the Exodar!
EVERYBODY PANIC! Actually, it seems as though everyone else wanting to quickly level a Draenei did just what I did. They got off of Azuremyst Isle as quickly as possible, and headed back to comfortable and familiar hunting grounds. In my case, that was Goldshire.
I can only imagine how those poor humans felt as they saw a half-dozen squid-faced monsters earth-shocking their way through the Fargodeep Mine. Sure, the puny humans fled, but that's because they understood the might of the Draenei when we had a raid of 2 to take down Hogger. The wide-open spaces of your Goldshire amused us, and soon we were taking over logging duties in Eastvale, also slaying those silly little murloc things by the dozen. GLURGLURGLELURGLE indeed.
Running back into Stormwind, I was constantly accosted by people saying things such as, "How's the weather up there?" and "Nice face, blue face."
Do they not realize that we're only barely taller than night elves, WHO ARE ALSO BLUE TINGED? Words hurt, people, words hurt. However, one funny soul decided to follow me around asking "Can you make trinkcits?" Yes, "trinkcits."
No, I cannot make your "trinckits" yet. I can make a little golem who spits healing love at me. I can even make copper rings if you ask nicely, and give me some money for this weekend party the Naga are having.
I think the point I'd like to make is that yes, we're Draenei, yes we're new to you, but we're not new to us. We've been traveling around in our spacesh...interdimensional vessel.. for quite some time, and if it weren't for those accursed elves (blood not night, we love you, really we do) we'd have continued past your Scourge-infested world and on to happier times with the Naaru and the warmth of the light.
So please, ask your children not to tug on our tentacles, do not call us "squidbillies" behind our backs, and do not assume we all know jewelcrafting (even if we do). We're regular folk, just like you and that gnome over there, and we're here to help you fight the Burning Legion. Now, can I get a summon?

While this may have been the best post-release BC tidbit I've read, you are squidbillies. Deal with it.

We "new" Draenei are too kool for Alliance foos, I'd rather chill out with the other blue hulks and heal each other with out gift of Naru...ya bitches.

So I am to understand that you skipped all of the new Draenei content that Blizzard so painstakingly put together so you could go hang out at Goldshire? Goldshire?!?! Azuremyst may be crowded, but its alot nicer than Goldshire.
On the other hand, I am sure it was easy pickings since virtually everyone else is either a new race or in Outland.

If anyone calls my female draenei a "squidbilly", we're going to have issues....
but I don't know why everyone was so anxious to race out of the new lands. The music and surroundings are surreal and it makes me wonder why people would rush back to what's familiar when there is entirely new content to explore.

Draenei are to Tauren as Gnomes are to Dwarves : Shorter, less hairy, and flamboyantly colored.

Ummm actually you were coming to meet us since we had resisted the Burning Legion before. You weren't just going to pass us by. Also, you didn't fly through space, you traveled through dimensions, there is a difference. First being the need of rocket fuel.

I think it's really a shame that people are skipping the new starting areas to go to familiar territory. The new content is really, really well done, both starting areas and Outland. It puts the old stuff to shame. Personally I'm sick to death of Goldshire and The Barrens and am going to get every penny's worth of new content that I can.

Still waiting for my copy, but I rolled a Troll on opening night to see what was going on. Any blood elves that made it into Durotar were swarmed by players eager to see their emotes, hear their jokes, and see how their racials worked.
Pretty funny seeing a blood elf trying to kill boars while 3-4 orcs followed behind, repeating "jump again" and "do /silly".

If I ever have to set foot in Goldshire again I'm going to ride the bullet train to slab station.

I would liek to ask this, why the heck would you go to old zones and skip new content!? You've jsut wasted some really nice and new content.... jsut ot grind? Really, that's pathetic, and sad.
You buy a game for fun, grinding defeats the point of the game. I could see why you'd grind 20-60, but 1-20 in the new zones? That's just... yeah...

But I guess some people don't give a crap about new content and only look at lvl 70 where they can go back to grinding for the best gear to wtfpwn other people in pvp.

The Night Elves do the same thing. Anytime I'm in Menethil Harbor, I get whispers asking me to escort newbie(usually under level 10) Night Elves to Ironforge/Stormwind. They don't go out and enjoy their content either. One can play a Night Elf and level and quest without leaving Kalimdor. The Darnassus AH and /1 connects to those of the other Alliance AHs and /1's.
So the Draenei are the new Night Elves in that regard too. Plus the Draenei look like half-Tauren, half-Night Elves anyways.
And by the way, those Draenei are really grinding too fast. By yesterday morning, there were already level 28 Draenei Shamans on my server. I'm a level 34, and it's taken me a few weeks. They did it in barely a day and a half. Those guys/girls really need to slow down.

I ran my Draenei Shaman to Stormwind at Level 1, danced around, took screenshots, said my "hellos" *CHEER!*
...and promptly stoned back to AzureMyst.
The level design, sound design, musical score and quest detail are just fantastic and not to be missed!! Roll anew, run to Azure Watch if you feel like a challenge and take on yellow and orange quests.
Great stuff!

@14...

I also routinely do thus (though usually after doing all the Teldrassil quests) in order to get the factionrep from the other two (now three) starting areas. So instead of skipping content, I'm actually doing more than most people :)
(Also, I solo the journey from Menethil to IF - who needs an escort? Stick to the roads! Sure, you might die once or twice, but that's a short corpse run and a small repair bill - big deal.)

No need now though. With 2.0.1, you get full rep for gray quests, so you can go back and do them far later, when they're easy. It's helping a friend and I get rep for Stormwind and Darnassus. Full rep for killing things I can one-hit? Much easier now.
Also, I have no idea if all those Night Elves in need of escort are genuine newbies, or just the alts of established players. Either way, we'll probably start to see that soon with non-alt Draenei. The Blood Elves do get it easier in that regard. Go to Silvermoon City, Portal to Undercity, Zeppelin to Orgrimmar, and there they go. (And that's probably their only major advantage over Draenei, otherwise Draenei are best :) ).
