Always look on the bright side of server crashes
Like Chris's server, my server has been a pit of instability and crashes that make the game nearly impossible to play. Tuesday night, Magtheridon was crashing literally every minute, and half the time no mobs would spawn when the server was up. This is pretty annoying for people trying to quest or do instances, but it led to a couple of fun little side games. Among these were:
- Guess how long the server will stay up for! The winner gets their name announced when the server returns from its next crash.
- Race around Hellfire Citadel and see how far you can get before the server shuts down again.
- If all the mobs have disappeared, immediately go out and kill all the opposing faction you can find. It's pretty easy with no mob interference.
- If the mobs are still not there, see how much of the area you can explore before the server shuts down. Unfortunately, if the mobs suddenly repopulate, you can be in a whole lot of trouble. I got a 15-minute shutdown warning in Shattrath City and tried to see how far I could go before the crash. When the server came up again, I was in Shadowmoon Valley, surrounded by demons, with a flight path that led nowhere and a long, long walk back to a major city.
Can you think of any games to play with unstable servers, or is "How much money did I spend on this expansion again?" still the game of choice on your server?

Well we are playing the *Get to know your guildie better in Vent* game as everyone sits for an hour on Ventrillo in Queue.

Hehe, I transfered to Sisters of Elune right before the Xpac. There's probably 1/5th of the people on that server than on Silver Hand. Havent had one problem. Also the alliance/horde ratio seems to be about even, which makes world pvp nice. :)

The game I played when Kaz'goroth wen't down was head to a different server. I played on Velen, a new server with TBC, and played uninterupted for about 5 hours.

My server has been stable so far. I get home from work early enough that the queue is not bad or no queue at all and so far a bit of lag but no crashes. There are tons of people eveywhere though so some quests can be hard to complete.

I'm on Thunderhorn and our server has been pretty crumby. The first day it crashed quite a bit. Then yesterday it crashed a few more times. That's ok. I took the time off to make this movie about it, lol.

** well..Vanguard Beta I am in now...Bronzebeard is my present home...or was...Vanguard addiction for some reason is hitting me.
I normally look forward to WoW after work...lately I have been eager to see Vanguard...
Oh noes....is this a sign that I am losing interest >.>
...Also Neverwinter Nights 2 is very fun to make my own mods...I totally enjoy running games and GMing....
battlefield 2 when im in a pvp moode but servers are down or games are slow in Bg so I go Shoot bastards vs backstabing... =)
I think ill wait a while till I hit WoW Bc....its a mess and I want to wait till the frenzy dies down...
So many games I ignored I am now goofing around in...and I have been missing other fun besides WoW..
SO down time is kinda nice actually.

The "What would you do if the Internet died tomorrow?" conversation is always a good ice breaker when the servers are down :)
