First US 70?

Metaphysic, a dwarf priest in the guild Afterlife on Cenarius, posts screenshots of himself at level 70, along with his /played. A long thread consisting of doubtful screenshot analysts and people who don't understand the irony in calling someone else a nerd on a video game forum ensues.
Asked how he did it, Metaphysic said he solo quested all the way to 70 in 44 hours. He's gotten 11 hours of sleep since the expansion's release. He'd already been to 70 in beta, so he mostly knew where the good quests were -- although he did say there were some "brutal" periods of griding when he couldn't find a good quest.
I created a character on Cenarius to see if I could confirm this, but Metaphysic wasn't online (unsurprisingly.) The screenshots look pretty darn convincing, though, and since a ton of other people in his guild were 67, I wouldn't be surprised if he really was 70.
So congratulations Metaphysic, and as your guildies said, get some sleep!

I'm almost 100% sure that it is true. Most of Afterlife's player base is around 67 at this point, and I'm sure will be raiding by next month. They are an extremely talented and very hardcore guild. Wouldn't be surprised at all if it's true.

But... When the French guy got to 70 it was because Franch are lame, right? But now do you think everybody's going to say this guy's so awesome bc he did it solo and he's not French so it's cool? Food for thought. My gut tells me the same people who were jealous of the French guy are going to be jealous of this guy. They just won't be able to make stupid nationalistic comments.

Grats on 70, but more importantly, grats on 10k in gold! Holy moses! I'm a penny pincher in game, but I've never come close to 10k in gold! Never come close to 2k for that matter. Wow. Anyone else have this much coin laying around? That alone leads me to believe he did level to 70 legit. Between vendor trash, quest rewards, etc. . .

What??? You got sleep you wimp??? Why not 70 in 33 hours? Hey I once did finals/reports/papers/tests for 72 hours straight! My friend did 78! Now THATS nerdy! How can you brag if you slept! phht! Thumbs down!

A good portion of the comments and forum posts I read about the other first 70 was the way he acquired 70, which some people consider to be just shy of exploiting game mechanics to reach 70 in a short amount of time. Personally, I kind of have no opinion on the subject matter; if that's how you want to get to 70, more power to you. Frankly, I don't even have a character at 61 yet, and I'm not too worried about getting 70 in the next few months.
The content will still be there when I reach 70 :)
But, congratulations to those who do get 70, especially at such a short point in this juncture. More importantly, though, is that these people should take this opportunity of dinging 70 to...I don't know, say, sleep for the next 24 hours straight or so!

I dont know about the rest of you, but i have a fulltime job, a woman, and other things that are more important to me then getting my wow char to level 70, I bought the exp and made a blood elf Im having fun playing with a group a friends we all talk about getting to 70 and flying mounts and stuff sometimes but Its more about killin everything we see, getting gear, having fun. not "the first to 70" we dont even log our BE's unless the others online so. Good work on getting to 70 and not going outside for 3 days.. wow you sure impressed all of us.

IMO Either way of leveling is fine. The French guy didn't break any rules. In fact, there's an XP bonus for being in a group.
I wish that I could've afforded to compete in the race to 70. I don't have that kind of time. But that doesn't mean I'm going to ridicule people who do either.
I was mostly just trying to point out the hypocritical-ness of many people.

I guess I can understand if you have been in the beta and were 70 you have seen all the content but why in the hell would anyone want to do this if they haven't? Half the fun is new content and lore as well as gear and questing with friends, I just don't get it. Oh and I think both of the people that got 70 already are lame, french or american it doesn't matter.

This is actually disapointing, Why you ask?
Because I read that levelling from 60 - 70 would take as long as 0 - 60 and considering the quickest I ever heard of that was 5 days played time, which to me is like 110 hours.
Now we are talking about levelling in 30 hours or less to 70?

Yes, it's true... several of my guildies on Cenarius has seen Metaphysics running around... and some did a few instance with him as well. I'm not surprised that a player from Afterlife is already level 70. A lot of their players are now level 67~68, and will expect to hit 70 probably before the end of this weekend at the latest.
They're a guild with a long, standing hardcore oriented tradition. They've been around since EverQuest, and basically just continued that tradition to this date.

I got my troll shaman to 70 in beta within the first few weeks (If I didnt explore so much it would have been alot faster) and I also got a BE pally to almost 60.
I did this all once, no need to rush agian. Ill hit 70 when I fell like it. Anyway gratz on the 70 grind.
