I had a theory on this, why don't they just add something to keep the 'waiting' players busy, such as a battleground. The battlegrounds are on a seperate server, so why not queue the last logged on character into a battleground so the person can do something while they wait to get into their server. They could also, as a friend suggested, have a server-wide chat area where horde & alliance could communicate. This would allow for some interesting conversation before entering your server, and it would help pass the time.I think a server split would open up a whole can of worms. I play on my server with 10 irl friends and we're all in separate guilds, I would hate for us to get separated because of some technicallity.
