WoW Moviewatch: World's First Level 70
Whether or not you agree with how he went about it or the sanity behind his desire, there's no disputing that Gullerbone was indeed the first player to get a character to 70. This video shows the method behind his madness, just in case you want to go and farm your way to 70 too.
Because I'm never one to shy away from a good discussion, I'll just add my opinion here: As long as Gullerbone enjoyed himself, either in the activity of getting to 70, or in the result itself, then there's no harm here. He's not hurting your game, he's just working the game mechanics to reach an end that he desired. That's the great thing about an MMO such as WoW - there are so many options that you can explore for your $15 a month.
Oh, and one more quick comment: Is it just me, or can you really tell the difference between European-made videos and North American-made videos by their choices in music?? Not 100% of the time, but enough to make an educated guess as to the continent of origin.
Post your reactions below, and also see what the punters over at our sister site, Joystiq, have to say about it too.

The music sounded like he was having fun, but I know I wouldn't have... I personally like questing and enjoying lvling up, because in the end to me, it's not getting to the top lvl thats fun, its the game itself and the journey there, but I imagine it must be pretty cool to know you're the first person to get to 70 out of 8 million people.

I agree with the writer of this article. Who are you to tell him how he is supposed to have his fun. Everyone enjoys the game differently, some people try to be the first to make craftable items, or some people have fun playing the AH, and I'm sure there is someone right now having fun leveling the First Dranei to hit level 70.
We cannot be the fun police, the amount of enjoyment he got from being the first level 70 is the same amount of enjoyment you will have doing every quest on the way and taking a month or more to get to level 70.
Now heres the question I have however. I'm assuming most of the people helping him were still level 60, how was it possible for them to help him kill the higher level mobs around lvl 68 or so? or did he just kill low level mobs the entire time? If thats the case, then it must have been that much harder. I guess he could have just had alot of people helping.

If he had fun getting to 70 that way, good for him. As for me, I agree with number 2. I'm enjoying exploring, questing and having fun with my guildies. I'm not gonna rush it. And it's been a blast so far. Questing with gaming wife FTW!

I didn't pay his monthly fee. I don't have any say so in how he plays the game. As long as he doesn't violate the EULA, what does it matter? Why does everyone seem to think that their opinion mattters on how he plays the game? You know what I care about? This this is a great game and I enjoy playing it! I don't care what you do with your account and I especially don't care what you think about what I do with my account. In the end this is a game, and the whole idea behind games is to have fun. I hope that you are having fun, I know I am.

Now I am waiting to see who will have the first level 70 Blood Elf or Draenai.

I wouldn't be suprised if somebody leveled up to 70 just this weekend. Then they'll die from exhaustion.

I think I can say I love this game, but still not enough to have a 28 hours session... I'm sure so many people have tried to be the world first lvl 70 that it is normal this guy gets so much bile. Congratulations to him, he'll have a nice story to tell to his kids if/when he has!
About the music, I guess you are right. This music was
taken from an old british tv show that most europeen would recognize immediatly. At the end of each show, a huge crowd is running after a libidinous guy who... Well that's another story...

lol @ 9, I imagine it will end up like that South Korean man who played Starcraft until he died. Sucks he died, but how can one man play so much that he forgets to sleep/eat and dies doing something that is supposed to be fun?

I, for one, think it's awesome that these guys are motivated and organized enough for this. Even though they clearly weren't able to 'enjoy' the content out there we'll be plowing through to get to 70, you know that they have other lvl 60 alts they'll be leveling normally.
