Breakfast Topic: Your first weekend in the Burning Crusade

As we wind into our first weekend since the much anticipated release of the Burning Crusade, I wonder what everyone's up to. Some people around the world are already hitting level 70 -- a feat, which, with my leveling speed, astounds me -- and I've even seen the first level 70 on my home realm. Of my immediate circle of friends I have a few people of lower level who haven't bothered to buy the expansion yet, several pushing their mains as far as they can, others starting anew with Blood Elves or Draenei, and yet others who can't decide which alts to play. With a priest at 62, a rogue at 61, and a new paladin at 14, I think I fall into that last category. So what have you been up to since the release, and what does the weekend have in store for you -- in Azeroth or Outland?

Well.. i got the expansion on teus.. First night I rolled a Draenai Hunter (whos lvl 11 now). No plans to work on him this weekend because I have a 46 main I need to get to 49 and a rogue twink to finish Twinking.
On Teus. 2 buddies and I rolled our first hordes (BE's). Since its 3 of us going to lvl all at once and one of their internet is down I wont be doing that.. So one of them and I rerolled Hordes so we can have fun on that side. I rolled a BE priest. So we will be working on that this weekend.
For The Record.. I'm in luv with my priest. They are alot of fun to play for some reason.. I cant pinpoint it.. but its been alot more fun then my hunter.

Well, during the launch itself, I was playing my main (54 Priest), but now I'm letting him get some rest XP before heading off to ST. I've been playing my new Shaman since Tuesday. I now plan to eventually have enough alts to where I'm always playing with rest XP.

Whats Rest xp. Ive seen it talked about here before. I think there was an article partly on it. But Ive never understood how you get it, what it is, or what it does!
Can anyone put it in simple terms for me?

Oh dear, serves you right then ^^
As for me, im loving TBC. Got my rogue and priest to 62. Just a real pity that the first weekend of TBC clashes with when I have to work at the weekend! Im sure I will get around to leveling a new race, when I get to 70.

First things first, #4, youre an idiot and its your own fault.
#3, Rest XP is when you log off in an inn and when you come back and log in, your XP Bar is blue. When it's blue, you get double XP for each kill.

And I haven't gotten BC yet(Haven't seen the point, still being only a level 35 Dwarf Paladin). But I am considering getting it, if only to explore the Draenei Isles, and do their quests in the search for the elusive Exalted status.

I've seen HFC for the first time, and got the Tenacious D belt. Been having fun running around with my Belf Pally (now level 12). Discovered AV is completely dead. I'm taking it easy while people are grinding the quest areas/mobs into dust... ran LBRS last night to complete a few quests and came out with 200k experience including 2 quest hand-ins (which is really worth doing to get a headstart on levelling in the Outlands IMO).

My 2nd run of Ramparts I looted Tenacious D, so I feel accomplished =D

My copy of BC was delivered Wednesday and, not wanting to brave to Outland crush with my 60 Human lock, I started up a Draenei Shaman on Kaz'goroth. It didn't take long to decide that the Draenei starting area was probably not that much better. Then it was over to Velen, a brand new server opened with TBC, to roll a Tauren Shaman where it was just me and the NPCs in Mulgore. Leveled her to about 6 before rolling a BE lock along with 90% of the other BE people. Leveled her to about 6 as well. The BE starting area was not too bad, Velen being a new server, I guess.
Thursday the Dranei starting area had thinned out to a reasonable population so I leveled her for a while as well as the Velen characters. Then later checked out Outland which was still too crowded for my taste. The same Friday except I did a few Outland quests and replaced my Verimondes Last Resort and an off hand item with a staff, my wand and my Magisters leggs (finally).
I'll probably play my 60 lock as well as the two Horde on the new server to see how things go. There is a certain attraction to starting anew on the Horde side.

I decided to give my 60 night elf priest a rest first (literally, 'cause they're not starting us with any rest xp), so I rolled a blood elf alt on another server just for kicks, because it's about time I rolled Horde. So far I'm really loving Eversong Woods (General chat aside). It's gorgeous, maybe a little too gorgeous for the rough-and-ready Horde. Anyway, quest progression is fairly straightforward, and leveling is a breeze. Well it was, once I let the initial OMG BLOOD ELVES excitement die down.
Slightly different story back in Outland. The entire population of Ironforge has vanished; now they're crowding the inn at Honor Hold. Single-digit frame rates FTW! Questing has been...interesting. Mob respawn rates are out of control. Kill one guy, and three seconds later there are two replacements right behind you. Thankfully the Horde on my (usually hostile PvP) server haven't been in a ganking mood; in fact some have saved my ass, by finishing off mobs or pulling adds off of me. I've been sure to return the favour.
I'm trying not to get discouraged. A bunch of my guildies dinged 61 already, and there are people on my server well on their way to 70, if not already there--last I checked the highest on my server was 68.

some people seem to jump to conclusions. #4 never said HOW he was power leveled. power leveling is not against the ToS, otherwise that european guy who hit 70 first would have had his account banned. of course, if he was using a third party program to do it, then yes, i agree it was his own fault.
