Breakfast Topic: What's your archnemesis class?
Everyone has the one class or spec that they dislike irrationally. You call for them to be nerfed on the forums, you stalk them through battlegrounds, and you may even swear under your breath when one of them ends up in your instance group. This is your archnemesis class.
There's an old joke that the traditional enemy of the rogue is every other rogue on the server, and I have to admit that used to be true for me. I hated other rogues more than any other class. Sure, there were really nice and skilled rogues, but they seemed to be in the minority compared to the giant amount of idiots that rolled a rogue to be cheap shot artists (pun intended.) All the ninjas, drama queens, and overall irritating people I met in my first few months of playing WoW were other rogues, and a deep sense of self-loathing festered inside of me. I was halfway tempted to reroll a warlock -- and this was back in the days where NO ONE was a warlock -- when the idiot rogues disappeared! Where did they go?
A couple months later, when untalented, unintelligent, aggro-insensitive DPS warriors began infesting my guilds, I had my answer. To this day, I'm always a little suspicious of DPS warriors, particularly those who utterly refuse to consider tanking an instance and have a wishlist consisting of 90 percent of the one and two-handed weapons in the game. However, the recent warrior nerfs have sent the annoying DPS warriors back into hiding, soon to emerge again as whatever other class allows them to take a lot of loot and smash things.
What class/spec annoys you most in WoW? Does the annoyance extend only to people you fight in PVP, or do you hate those of the same faction as you?

Archnemesis? Probably everyone. I can't say that druids have the upper hand against any other class. Usually all I can do is Bear-up and hunker down for a long fight.
As far as other classes I dislike, ummmmmm, that would be all of them. Actually, I don't hate any one class, I just hate everyone who plays WoW.
Every level between 1 and 60 was torture as a Druid (back when Hurricane and Innervate were 31 point talents). Even when I could get groups (nearly never) I would be the first one to get kicked from the group whenever a member of a 'proper' class would show up.
I had to group with the worst of WoW. I healed my way to 60 with Fury Warriors, Shadow Priests, Ninja Rogues, Hunters (there are no good hunters), DPS Paladins, and 'Aggro-what?' Mages and Warlocks.
Lets just say that I've had to buy shields and 1handers for one too many Warriors.

What I've seen from all the census data, is that hunters, rogues, and warriors are the three most played classes by far. Not ironically, they are also the three most hated classes in this forum....
As someone who plays all three of these classes, I guess I fit the mold pretty well. However I chose them for personality reasons and not for EZmode. (Just don't like using a sparkler to kill something)
IMO Hunters are very hard to beat in pvp. Even against the dozens of twinks, my green and blue clad hunter was able to keep in the top 3 damage wise even at 4 levels down. (sad as i am to say it, they should prolly be nerfed)
However that said, in pvp, melee classes are TEH gimp. All any other class has to do is.. run faster. Intercept on a 30s cooldown, vanish on 5min, leaves us dead. Ask any lock/mage/hunter/shaman what he can do in 30s to 5min...
I shouldn't have to trinket myself out to hell to be able to catch a caster, or spec myself for pvp only.
KOS? anything with ranged damage, or die tryin ;)

In AV I go out of my way to Fairy Fire rogues -- just to prevent them from stealthing.
Gritz Jan 24th 2007 12:55PM
As an afflock - Hunters are the toughest class for me. With a Felhunter and smart debuffing (CoT/CoEx instead of CoA on everything) though, every other class is cake.

I will go with hunters and rogues, although I can't hate on rogues too much...stunlocking and ambushing are the purpose of the class.
As someone who's suffered through playing a druid since launch, it's great to finally see all the love. I've been every preist's best friend after I've run an instance with them. Battle rez, crit-heals for all, innervate, tanq-heal the entire party for 4-5K+, pop out of cat and into bear if the tank can't pull the aggro off the clothies (not always the tanks fault)...our versatility has been truely realized as of late.
There are still warriors complaining we are better tanks, even after the nerf? Sure, bear form does make a great tank, but a warrior that knows what they are doing will always out-tank us. The warriors I still see complaining are the ones that don't stack sunders and think that effective tanking is sitting there and beating on one mob until it's dead.

As a warrior (horde, so it hasn't been an issue) I don't understand at ALL, the amount of hate for warriors and their desire for certain loot.
Warriors have nothing else. If a good 1h/2h drops, a warrior needs it more than anyone else, because most of them are clearly suited to warriors over everyone else.
Rogues are (debatably) better suited to daggers, but at the worst they can't pack a 2h. Shaman should stop trying to be rogues. Hunters should be focused on stats and you're just as well off with weapon that a warrior wouldn't want anyway than trying to win a good sword or two. Priests/Mage/Warlock, no competition. Paladin are going to be an interesting new dyamic, but for the most part they're better off with the +int weapons, and warriors with the +str or interesting procs.
People should just really roll the class they WANT to play, and not force their class into a gear-based hybrid. It doesn't work as well as a lot of people want to cry about on a regular basis. Most intelligent people can see a piece of gear and understand who's going to benefit the most from it.
Any whining about who needs a 1h or 2h is basically a lot of misunderstanding about what helps and hurts their class more than anything. (Warriors included).
And as a warrior, I only dislike other warriors in a 5-man situation since I'm used to having all the plate to myself when it drops. I guess I'll have to fight with Paladins in the future over it, but Blizzard is doing a better job of adding +mp/5 to paladin pieces and distinguishing things so people don't get into ignorant loot arguments. Every other class complements Warriors very well, so no complaints.

As a warlock, rogues and hunters are the two I hate the most. It really depends on the player though, because the unskilled ones are my favorites. You stunned me but you didn't think my felguard was going to hit you? So you run away? Now stunlock's worn off I dot you so you can't vanish either? So you stun me again and try to melee my Felguard? hahahahahahaha! Those people are an embarrassment to their class.
Unfortunately with rogues, it seems to be less about skill and more about getting the best gear so you can two-hit clothies running solo. That's not really much of a fight and doesn't take skill.
I can detect stealthed targets with Paranoia, but actually having that pet out is worthless against a rogue. What a cruel joke to play on warlocks.
Hunters, I noticed last night, are not quite the killing machines they've been since December. They are not an easy fight, but my chances for surviving have improved. They might move down my hated list to where Paladins and Druids are.
It basically boils down to wanting a PvP fight to actually be a fight.
Everyone complains about fear, but I have no problem with it when I fight priests and warlocks. There are so many ways to get out of fear, or resist it, that the complaints are crap. I have a 50% chance of successfully fearing a PvP target on first cast. What are the odds that I resist scatter shot or stunlock? Oh... zero! :-)
Fear and dots alone will not kill you, so you guys can cut back on the exaggeration.
Dico Jan 24th 2007 2:53PM
I play a Hunter and a Rogue, and i'm quite good at playing both of these classes.
On my Hunter, i really don't fear any class. But, i hate all of you, because you all whine too much. Cry less please, play the game more. I've seen about 5 posts that basically say "hunters are no skill chumps". This is laughable. I personally feel i am as skilled as hunters come. Its not me, its YOU thats the no skill chump. Please, before you come posing, learn to play your class.
Back on topic, i hate stupid people. People who cry and whine about why thier class gets owned all the time (hint: maybe its not the class, maybe, just maybe, it has something to do with how bad you are). People that whine about other classes being too overpowered and should be nerfed, thats a joke. This is a game where any class can beat any class, IMO, you just have to be good at playing YOUR class. I loathe nubs who have no idea what they are doing in an instance, please, don't join the LFG channel if you don't know how to play your class.
On a side note: i love feral druids. Personally, i feel like blizzard did a great thing buffing feral druids. Pre-patch feral druids were laughable if they tried to attack me, now i have to try.. at little, but i still have to try and beat them. Also, blizzard helped seriously break the "perfect group" mold. You can go into an instance with a bear tanking, before, this was nearly impossible.
Killraine Jan 24th 2007 5:22PM
Have to agree about hunters being noobs...both of my brothers rolled hunters as their first characters and watching them play makes me want to cry
GamerJunkie Jan 24th 2007 3:08PM
@54 You are so full of lockdun, that your class is the most hated because of idiot comments like yours.
Fear has a "chance" of being resisted, it has a "chance" of breaking. It is one of the Warlock's arsenal along with noobcoil, Felgard, Felhunter, or Succubus.
Compare that with a Rogue's stunlock which is the only means a rogue has to cuff you.
DoTs do kill because Blizzard has increased its dmg so you whining warlock can get a spot in raid just applying dots to bosses.
If the Dots don't kill us, then it wouldn't mean much in a raid. Blizzard has yet to figure out how to balance PVP and PVE.
Warlock atm is ezmode along with hunters in PVP.
Anyone can click-click and tag people all day with dots and arcane shots.
Bodah Jan 24th 2007 2:53PM
Amen to that, brother!
As a Feral Druid, it's great to finally get some love from Blizzard.
My PvE arch-nemesis: Fury Warriors. The number of times I've had to back off and let them "tank" in a PUG disgusts me. Their slot would better have been filled by a real DPS class.
9 out of 10 Feral Druids agree - we can't out-tank a good Prot Warrior, but if you aren't specced that way, step aside for someone who can do the job.
PvP arch-nemesis: Everybody. My own fault - I suck at PvP.
And to the priest above who loves Feral Druids - we love you right back, man.
Pritchard Jan 24th 2007 2:09PM
As I mage I hate rogues. I hate them. They are KOS for me. I don't care if they are 5 levels lower than me, I kill them. And then I /laugh just before my fireblast triggers their death howl. I kill them and then I stand over them and I laugh. And then I /spit on them. They are cowards and pansies and if they run away so much the better. I chase them down and blow them up. I hate rogues and their cheap-ass gay abilities and I can't wait until my Blood Elf rogue is high enough to take him in BGs and go after you stupid overpowered mages. I hate you the most.
SymetriX Jan 24th 2007 2:49PM
Shadow priests. As a Mage, I don't even bother fighting them unless I have backup anymore. They can completely shut down my offense. Silence. Spell Lock. DOTs. Fear.
By the time I'm able to use remove lesser curse, it's already too late, and that only removes maybe one DOT or two.
And then, to add insult to injury, if I've managed to do any damage they can get it all back, either by healing or by draining life in Shadow form. Ridiculous!
Feral Druids are starting to get up there on my sh*t list too. Its not that I can't beat them--it just takes so long, and if they have another class to distract, they'll run off and heal, and go right to bear or cat.
And of course we don't even need to talk about warlocks, who I'm pretty sure can just solo battlegrounds now.
Rayze Jan 24th 2007 3:10PM
As a 60 Feral Druid, 61 UD Shadow Priest, and a noob 10 BE lock, I don't hate any class more than Pallies. I think it's an abomination and shame that Horde has Pallies on our side...the ability to throw up a bubble and become immune to everything is so cheesy, Pallies should come with a Monistat 7 kit.
Gurei Jan 24th 2007 3:50PM
A class i dont like is...not a calss but more like everyone from any class witht eh Standard spec, you know, holy priest ,prot warriors, resto droods,mm hunters, not all of them but those that just insist in hating everyone that aint their favorite spec and shout things like L2use shield,L2heal,L2do aimedshot rotation and stuffs.
Annoula Jan 24th 2007 4:28PM
Man sounds like people here need to group with a decent hunter. I've got a 62 female dwarf hunter (gets lots of comments). Pet stays away in raids, but the new 5 mans I've been keeping it out (it's the elite snakes from ZG). I use him for added DPS with taunt off, to take aggro off the healer when we over-pull (taunt on) and to off-tank as needed.
Also, with traps being usable in combat I can not double trap things. So I can trap one on the initial pull and then trap it again when it de-ices and goes for the healer.
If we're in a raid, sure I'll be careful with my aggro and make sure I'm not pulling off the tanks. If we're in a 5-man I've got feign death to wipe my aggro as needed and I'm in mail with 5k health and pots as my disposal as needed.
I don't die often, as a matter of fact since I've got goblin jumper cables XL I've saved some of my recent pugs from the annoying walk back.
When someone else is in combat with a mob, I look for the next one. I usually hit my mark and open with an aimed shot (while my pet is running at it) so I've gotten kill stolen quite a bit as well.
Hunters aren't all bad.
Arbuz Chokaro Jan 24th 2007 5:01PM
Does Alliance count? If not, I dislike gnomes, dwarves, humans, night elves, and now dreanai.
Ephor Jan 24th 2007 5:24PM
Shamans. As a pally player since release, I always felt cheated looking at shamans. I rolled pally because I wanted a warrior that could heal, to save on his own downtime and maybe save the healer. Shamans initially could heal, deal massive spell dps (pallies are still weak to spell damage), root, and pull, whereas pallies initially were just gimped priests mixed with gimped warriors.
Now the tables have turned. Pallies own everyone in BC, in all 3 builds, and only resto shams seem to be packing the punch thier 1.0 cousins did. Nevertheless, I still bear an undying hatred for the class that caused me to spend a fortune on nature resistance pots, just to get WTFpwned yet again by a cocktail of megaton instant spell damage shaken with a WF triproc : /
Octagon Jan 24th 2007 5:32PM
@54 Thanks GamerJunkie for that passionate opinion. I take it you play a rogue, and are rather unsuccessful against warlocks in PvP. That's not normal, and probably goes back to my comment about fighting rouges and hunters who don't have any skill.
Deathcoil is on a two minute cooldown and it's effect only lasts 3 seconds. Deathcoil is a shadow spell and can be resisted. If you want to go around ganking warlocks, put on some shadow resistance gear and equip your trinket. There are plenty of rogues that already do that, probably because they use strategy and skill instead of trying to kill me like I'm a mob. Nothing ruins my day like shadow resistance. CloS is also a trainable talent at 66, it should help you run up and hit me without having to think much. For this and more, please google Rogue guides so you'll know what you're doing.
As for pets: Succubus - Boo-hoo. If you can't see a warlocks pet, just don't gank him. Felhunter - if you're getting beat up by a felhunter, you have serious issues. Also, don't hit it, because that's dumb, amusing, but dumb. Felguard - he hits hard, but I've been killed with a felguard out. Sometimes rogues sap him.
Dots do less damage now than they've ever done. 100% of spell damage bonus before 2.0.1, 120% after 2.0.1, 94% after 2.0.3. Please eat through the damage and cry some more.
Please tell me how I kill people with two clicks. I've been playing a warlock for over a year, and I honestly must have overlooked that strategy. WTB [Knowledgeable Rogue]

To Jusk (#17), In that case you didn't win the fight. It was a draw.
