Reader UI of the Week: January 15 - 22
Welcome to Reader UI of the Week, your new weekly feature on what your peers are using in the world of AddOns and enhancements to improve the World of Warcraft experience.
Each week we'll look at one reader-submitted entry, and expose you to new ideas for your own UI setup. As we're just starting this week, we'll start with my own UI.
Character Name: Wyahld
Screen Size: 1680x1050 - 20" Widescreen Monitor
General Theme: Uncluttered - I need room to see the game while I'm raiding or in a party. I didn't like the default action bars that took up so much screen real estate. I don't like the lack of info in the default unitframes.
AddOns Used: Bongos, Titan Bar, X-Perl Unitframes, CT-mod Core, CT BuffMod, Bagnon, TrackerDial, Call of Elements
I've had a lot of UI themes over the years, but I've come around almost full circle to realize that simple is best. If I can leave my screen mostly uncluttered, then I find myself focusing on the game rather than any extraneous information. So this is my shammy, he's level 40 now and leveling quickly. The only add-on that really has an impact on gameplay is Call of Elements, which is a great tool for setting up totems.
So, gather up your UI screenshots, as well as your Character's Name, the Screen Size, your General Theme, the AddOns you're using, and a little blurb about it. Once you've got all that, submit it to readerui at gmail dot com.

Which add-on is it that changes your mana/health display? Is the purple bar for XP? I want it!!!
It may be an idea to get people who send in their set up to explain which add-on does what, that way it's easier for us to pick and choose which we want.

Very similar to mine aswell ;)
Uncluttered screens ftw!
I also use Bongo's and TitanPanel for the main stuff, and to move quest text and buffs I use a part of the CT_mod collection. Just right click the icon on the minimap and you can drag everything around.

Could you be more specific as to what mods are doing what? For instance if i go look at bongos it comes with so many addons for it i'm not sure what i'd have to install to get mine to look like that.

This is a very good idea WoW Insider. *Very* good. I'm looking forward to this.

I use PhotekUI v6.5 Widescreen... best UI out there. I've used it since it was released and it has never let me down. It's also updated every patch day so there's no waiting around. Go check it out on Curse. (He also makes a non-widescreen version in case you were wondering)

Nijle - Bongos Action Bars are in full effect (those are all the buttons in the bottom-right corner). I don't use Bongos XP or Bongos Stats (TitanBar covers that), the Bongos Roll Bar is on the screen, but it's really just in the same place for me as the default roll bar.
If Bongos is overwhelming, just type /bongos, go to Visibility, and start unchecking boxes. Then go to the general options and uncheck "Lock Bars". Then you'll see what bars there are to move around the screen.
Bongos Mapmod let me move the minimap to where it is now. This is the newest thing I've done and it's going to take some getting used to.
CTMod Core and CT Buffmod are what I used to move the quest text, and have a list of buffs.

Wamphyri - that is the xperl mod, which is far and away my favorite mod i have installed!
Paul - thank you for your explanation! I look forward to go home and give this a shot, i too am tired of the stock action bars that take up so much screen real estate! Thanks!!

Very nice, looks a lot like my own except I use monkeyquest to move the quest text and have my hotbuttons on the bottom left.

That's a great idea to show a screenshot and then list the addons. I'm working on a Perl UnitFrames tutorial, because I love that addon. Widescreen is the way to go. I'm biding my time. :)
