Unrealistically Phat Loot Phriday: Moldavite Ring of the Tiger

Iravada of the European server Quel'Thalas tips us off to a ring that's been floating around her server: the Moldavite Ring of the Tiger, which has some .... interesting statistics on it. Very interesting statistics. Iravada notes that you can't equip it, "but if you could :0."
Specifically, this is what you'd get if you could equip it:
- 27,590 attack power if you're a warrior, rogue, hunter, or any melee DPS class except for a druid. Druids with Heart of the Wild will get 33,108 attack power. Mages, warlocks and priests will get 13,795 melee attack power from the strength, which would make you a pretty scary mage when you're out of mana.
- Along those lines, druids would get an approximately 2,365 increase in their damage per second, and all other melee classes will get an additional 1,970 DPS.
- All classes will have their armor increased by 27,590 from the agility. And you thought bear druids were tough NOW ...
- It's not even possible to determine what this would do to critical strike chances and dodge, because it puts these at well over 100 percent for all melee classes. Can you double-crit something? Would you just slowly fade out of existence from sheer awesomeness?
I think we can all be pleased that this bugged item is unequippable, because I'm not going to want to face the hunter with this on in the battlegrounds. Mike Schramm reports that he's also seen screenshots of some plate legs with around 189,009 armor, which I couldn't dig up on Google.
Have you seen any of these exceptionally overpowered items on your server? What would you do if you found something beautiful but unequippable -- display it for a laugh, or try to score a quick epic flying mount off some poor sucker in the auction house?

Random question... what mod are you using that tells you how much it sells to a vendor? I had it before, and can't remember what it's called to get it again...
And that ring is awesome :P

My guild (on Azgalor A) had some cloth shoulders drop with some ridiculous int/stam on it. It was pretty funny seeing the comments in guild chat on it.

As a number of rogues know, all this would do to your dodge is raise it to 109.99%, the cap. Doesn't get any higher than that I'm sad to say, mine should be able to hit 117.2% :P. Still, omg omg.

nice! it put that on my warlock :-)

I'm a rogue on that exact server and my God, I'll be damned if I'm not about to empty my pockets of gold to buy that ring. =)

I believe it's a bug - it's possibly a +13/+13 stat ring really. Before TBC was released and even shortly after, I noticed a couple of new items amongst many others that had this bug for their stats. Even had a guildie link a new item that dropped for them that had this stat bug - funny thing was though, I was the only one in the guild who saw the bug. Everyone else saw the normal stats. I use tons of mods, so I'm wondering if it's a mod bug not a Blizzard bug.

Update on the above - it is a bug and possibly related to your WDB cache folder. Someone on the forums mentioned deleting that folder and restarting WoW. Should resolve the issue.
Sad as that would be bad-ass to use.

I don't find these items as incredible as everything else. I was the same way in other MMO's when people freaked out about GM weapons and such; it's no big deal. Weapons or equipment this overpowered is always obviously not for player use, so there's nothing worth getting excited about. I wouldn't even want to use them; You wouldn't be playing the game anymore. You'd be clicking on things, then they'd die. Not much different than hacking or many forms of bug exploitation.

Yeah, that's auctioneer package I'm using.
Just download it from their site, it's nearly release quality.
Wack auctioneer into google, should be the first site.

Too many of these bugged items are floating around. I think they are all unequippable...but still this shouldnt be happening.
Zandura Jan 27th 2007 1:40PM
I have found the opposite. Items where the stats where all +0 to stats.
Aladek Jan 27th 2007 3:56PM
What would I do...
Well I would prefer +all instead of just Agi/Str but I would become the bane of the horde... The Protector of Alliance, whenever a n00b is in need, wherever a horde can be found ganking... I will be there...
But I notice it's not unique... that means I could wear 2 of them...
I know, give me 2 rings +all, and I'll start my own fraction... ganking gankers in horde or alliance alike... Friend to N00bs and the terror of Gankers...
ya I know, too many comic books right?

SO fucking fake, I saw a belt with +30000 stamina agility strength. People nick named it the "Chuck Norris Belt"
