Warriors QQ, devs say "wait till 70 kthx"
It's been hard to miss the epic levels of complaint going on in the Warrior community right now. My own Warrior (pictued) is Fury-ously clawing his way up the 20s, so I have no firsthand opinion on whether Warriors are, in fact, in need of fixing, but most Warriors seem to think they are. Thus, it gets on my nerves when I see things like this, posted by Crezax in the Eu forums:- The devs would agree that the Warrior has some performance issues in PvP. They are keeping this in mind for future adjustments. However, they also want to see more of the warrior population level and gear up to hit end-game, where various weapons and items are going to change the average performance of warriors.
Things like having the PvP trinkets on a 2 minute cooldown rather than previously as a 5 minute cooldown is something they'd like to see more players get their hands on. While a lot of warriors are concerned with early/mid-game leveling and see imbalances there, the warrior's gear dependancy factors into this a fair amount.
As far as I can tell, this can be paraphrased as "Warriors are not balanced for pre-end-game, and we don't care. Level up to 70, get some epic loot, and then we'll talk." First of all, Blizz have said before that the end-game is not all there is, and that leveling is important to them as well as end-game. So why refuse to balance around it, at least a bit? Furthermore, even once folks have got to 70, not everyone is going to want to raid or PvP grind for epics. I understand that Warriors are quite gear-dependent by design, but perhaps that should be toned back a bit?
Anyway, like I said above, my Warrior experience is limited. What do you Warriors think of this statement from the blues? Am I misreading or over-reacting? I suspect this is going to be a hot issue, so please try to keep it civil in the comments.

i had to Drop Fury because it is not the same as it was the way the new Rage works is just "odd" It doesnt feel like its working right. (im not about to do complex formula's to prove my point) I have been a fury warrior 1-60 and only switched to protection end game.
So yeah i would like a look at the Fury build.
so for now i just switched to a nice MS/Protection Build that allows for some Kick ass damage and i can Tank The new stuff when needed. 35/0/18

While at times I feel as though I have gotten the short end of the stick as a warrior, if you think back to around February of '05 when the warrior population was starting to hit 60, the crying from out class was very similar to what were seeing right now.
However, once everyone got their hands on and Arcanite Reaper, and shortly after that TUF, people were singing a different tune entirely. After a summer of completely decimating people, we were nerfed like six patches in a row.
So I would have to agree that we have to wait and see how it pans out. The down side to this is that Blizzard has a history of nerfing our class based on gear that only a small percentage of the warrior population has.

I’m a lvl 63 arms Warrior 41/10/0 I have no problem lvling and I hold my own in PVP, think it comes down to how you play just the other day me and a lvl 62 shadow priest got ambushed by a some allys (60 warrior, 63 holy priest, 63 hunter) we took them out in short order. They got the priest down to half hp before we could do anything.
Now I understand the rage problem when tanking I don’t have the right build for it but I have to tank all too much and I just have to give up some dps to hold arggo not a big problem just takes picking the right thing at the right time. Do I believe we need a fix Yes, but I’m a happy warrior
Before the expansion I was on top of most of the BG kills, I had some of the best gear.

I was never a fury warrior before expac and I switched for leveling purposes. With bloodrage berserker rage and cheap heroic strikes I rarely find myself running out of mana. That said, casters are difficult because of the freeze effects and 2500hp firebombings from range. I'm getting better at handling it, but its still pain at 64. In group PVP Victory Rush is fantastic. I can usually open with Intercept-Victory Rush-Heroic/Bloodthirst for 2k when Rampage is active...and if its not active, then Im not doing my job.
I agree with the people who say that rather than complain, adapt. There are ways to beat every class, just some are more work. If you want to just muder with 4 buttons go back to your XBOX and PS3 and clear up my server queue.

@10 : Well said.
I am also a 39 Warrior, as I do not see alot of the changes, nor does it really bother me, the one difference I have seen is my tanking abilities. The druids have become the better tankers... and this seems mainly due to the fact that they can hold down the aggro much better than I used to, why, I do not understand, when I am doing everything to keep the mobs focused on me (and I mean everything).
I guess the only thing I can do at this point is adapt and change and see where my new role is in the world, as tanking is not as big as it once was for us... the question then I begin to ask, is what is our new role? Our role made so much sense, but how do we adapt now?

I know I'll probably get a million "noob" replies to this but I don't give a damn. I just got sucked into WoW last week out of curiosity (and the need for something to do before Halo 3 comes out). Now I find myself addicted. I'm an IT guy at my job and I just sit here for hours reading up and trying to understand this game. I have no clue what the hell "QQ" means or much of anything people have said. All I know is I have a Human level 17 Warrior and I've been having a blast playing him. Until last night when all my remaining quests culminated in the insanely hard Deadmines. I have a few freinds that are already playing and they are in the 20's and early 30's as far as levels go. We are starting a guild and only need a few more sigs on the charter. Point is they have both been through it and have no desire to try it again. Now I'm sure there are plenty of other hard dungeons in this game but does anyone have any advice or have been through this? What's a Warrior gotta do to move on from this horrid place?

@24:
Haha, I am a noob too, 39 warrior personally. I occasionally go through deadmines now for fun, something to do, or just make some money and send cloths to my tailor who just started out (or to sell on the ah), but I have to say, I have been through a few instances now, and Deadmines is still my favourite. I first went through it when I was much lower level, had a lvl 60 run through it when I was lvl 13, so lotsa loot for sure. My advice, find a good mix of a group with atleast a healer, and just have fun at it. It can definitely be a tough instance, but there are always groups going for deadmines, so it should be easy to find a group in Westfall.

Oh, and I think "QQ" is crying, two eyes in the OO and then the squigley makes tears... thats my guess if I ever had one.

WoW... Am I the only warrior out there with love left for fury? 69 warrior with 13/45/2... I can chop down mobs faster than most classes, taken on up to 6 mobs(thank you lifegiving gem, I'll never abandon you) and can still kick most of the elites' asses with my CDs. All this is with 99% new gear from BC (the only endgame gear I have left is my Crul'shoruk and Chromatic Boots)
My hunter friend destorys most warriors 1v1... so I took him to the FFA arena in Nagrand and killed him, twice. I think the big problem is not so much that the warrior class is broken, but that most warriors suck at the class and don't realize how important it is to choose the right gear for their spec.
I will always have my complaints though, for instance it would be wonderful if in PvP "Taunt" forced someone to look at you. And an Aoe crowd control feature would be nice, like if we could use "thunderclap" in defensive stance and reduce the CD on our Aoe taunt. My only real issue is that a druid has these things and we don't, they even have sunder now. And I'm not a druid basher I think its great they can tank and I can DPS in a five man. But we are the tank class... we should be ready and able for the job. Oh and "shield reflect" needs to cost less rage 10-15 would be nice.

I am currently a lvl 66 Arms/Prot warrior (37/5/15) and I still think warrior is fun. I am able to kill a few things at once (no more than 3 though, and I try to avoid that situation) and I have done every quest in Hellfire, Zangar, Terrorkar, and about half in Nagrand. I grouped for some of them, but a lot were done solo and I wasn't dying that much. At least as Arms, I think it's fine PvE. PvP I get owned by most classes (priest, warlock, mage in particular) but I just accept that solo PvP 1v1 I'm going to lose most of the time. I kinda chalk it up to the fact that I'm mediocre at PvP on my warrior because I see other warriors out in the wild pwning face.
I will say that with the changes you have to work a little harder at tanking 5-mans, and learn to manage rage and multi-mob aggro properly, but I still think I'm just as good as I was. Druids probably have it a bit easier with swipe but I'm in the player >>> class crowd. It doesn't matter if it's a feral druid or a warrior tanking as long as it's a good player.
Kazzaam Jan 30th 2007 5:18PM
I levelled my warrior to 35, so far, and while I won't cry about it, I will agree that Bliz has not been kind to warriors. Warrior spells are mediocre and the timeouts are too long. And the stupid rage system prevents warriors from using their spells anyway. After I tried some of the other classes, I was shocked by how much more powerful they are and how much easier they are to play.
The class balancing issues make a warrior futile in PvP. Warriors had an important role to play in PvE, by controlling aggro and holding mobs away from the clothies and DPS classes. However, they lost their purpose when feral druids can tank better.
Bliz's argument that the issues will be resolved by epic gear that can be gained at level 60 or 70 does not make up for the countless hours that must be sacrificed to get that far.
For now, I'm leaving my tin man to rust while I play a shaman. Now the game is fun again, rather than frustrating.
Hengist Feb 2nd 2007 7:40AM
I've just finished levelling my warrior to 70 and it has been a frustrating process, especially when questing alone. I am guild MT so need to be able to tank but have tried many different builds and hybrid bulds whilst levelling, I eventually settled on 41 talents in protection. I don't have great gear and it will be some time before my guild is up to the highest level instances. I need to be able to do some damage, watching a mage crit 3500 whilst being impotent in pvp and slow to kill in pve is no fun, it's also difficult to hold aggro with the other classes doing so much damage. Think i'll probably give it up and play something more fun.
Krianna Jan 30th 2007 9:24PM
I read the statement as "Look, we hear your problems for these levels-- we want to know what happens when you hit 70, though, and the gear ballance changes. Are you insane? Still underpowered?"
Look at it like this: do you want their efforts to go into making you good for leveling, but accidentally breaking you for end-game, or fixing the whole thing?
Juggernaut Feb 15th 2007 9:33PM
I Have come seeking help... /sigh I want to respec my current level 70 arms warrior to fury for PvE Raiding (i want max DPS and don't wish to waste any points in talents that don't increase my DPS, such as improved intercept). I have literally spent hours going over builds, critiquing and analyzing, only to find myself at square one and with a huge headache. I hope that someone, any knowledgeable Fury-raider, provide me a link to a build or some advice. It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
