Warlock Spells: Incinerate
Warlocks get a few new non-talent related spells in the expansion pack. One of the neatest ones is called Incinerate. Incinerate is acquired at level 64, and it's a fire-based spell in the destruction tree. As you can see from the tooltip, it has a pretty average mana cost (Rank 10 Shadowbolt, learned at level 60, uses 370, this uses 325) and does less damage. Oh, it does less damage unless you've got an Immolate debuff already up on the target, in which case this does damage on par with a shadowbolt, with a lower casting time. For more on this spell, and a picture of the coolest casting graphic in the game, read on.It's also a fire-based nuke that doesn't have an additional aggro component, like Searing Pain does, so it's a
very handy spell to have against shadow-resistant mobs. It also doesn't have many of the bonus effects through talents in the Destruction tree that Immolate and Shadow Bolt get. It does benefit from Devastation, Ruin and Backlash, but not from Improved Immolate or Shadow and Flame. So there you have it, one new spell, with a very very cool graphic.

Unless you know of an error in the talent tree tooltip, I believe Shadow and Flame does in fact boost Incinerate just as much as Shadow Bolt. And of course Improved Immolate isn't going to affect Incinerate, but then, it doesn't affect Shadow Bolt either. And Incinerate gets an additional 10% damange from 5 talent points in Emberstorm, which Shadow Bolt doesn't, which in my mind cancels out the loss of Improved Shadow Bolt proc effects.
Basically what Incinerate is is a fire alternative to shadow bolt for destruction 'locks. It's cool, but it hardly threatens the game balance, it's not like it does masses more damage than Shadow Bolt. My normal (PvE) attack opens with Immolate, then Incinerate, Fear, then Incinerate a couple more times, then Conflagrate. That combo usually takes down any non-elite mob in about 20 seconds without me taking a scratch. 'Course, it also takes my mana pool down by a third at least.
I like Incinerate as a legitimate alternative to Shadow Bolt. It's not for all situations, and it's hardly disruptive to game balance, but it does give warlocks who've been complaining about spamming Shadow Bolts a viable second option.

What's your problem? only know to say nerf locks, go level noobs, there are great spells for mages too (arcane blast!). All the classes has new spells/abilities and is nice for everyone.
Just play and enjoy, and if you dont like your class, reroll but dont blame and say 'nerf'.

Yeah i just got this spell yesterday. I love it! Right now im Demonology spec'd for the grind but i cant wait to try this spell out with my lvl 70 destruction build. All that plus fire dmg and backlash will be very deadly. ALLIANCE ON DARKSPEAR BEWARE!

Umm, I'm not sure which talent tree you're looking at, but Shadow and Flame does indeed boost Incinerate. Emberstorm does as well.

I've noticed several new "if this is active" then "spell x does more damage" additions in the expansion.
Just off the top of my head:
Ice Lance
Incinerate
Heroic Strike
Can you name any more?

I'm going to preface this by saying that I do indeed believe warlocks are probably the single most powerful pvp class.
However, I believe that locks are really a glass cannon, and if they don't get you in the first round of fearing/dotting/shadowbolt spamming, then they're totally done for due to no slows (curse of exhaustion doesn't count, at all), no stuns, etc.
In any case, a little challenge makes the game fun, right? :P

...There, that should cover whatever class you play, doesn't feel very nice when someone says to nerf your class. How about instead of crying for a nerf you become a better player and learn to kill warlocks instead of letting them kill you repeatedly

As if Locks didn't get nerfed enough in 2.0.3. Screw the PVP people - that nerf cost us DEARLY in PvE. I used to be able to tag a mob with my VW and DoTs, and combining VW, DoTs, and wand, I could take out a similarly leveled enemy by about the time the DoTs wore off. This is important for a lock, because Drain Soul only works near death to create shards, and if nothing else is finishing off the enemy it fails.
Ever since the patch, those same DoT's only take the mob down to about 1/3 of health left. At this point I have a two options - neither good:
1) Continue with my wand, which takes forever since there are no DoTs backing it up
2) Apply a second round of DoTs, which eats up my mana pool
This makes Locks horribly inefficient at PvE. If I choose route 1, I get pounded on. If I choose route 2, there better not be too many adds nearby, or the mana exhaustion (YES, even with Life Tap and such) will kill me but quick. Hellfire Peninsula was NOT fun when the spawn rate was through the roof, let me tell you.
To any of these "nerf locks!!1!1one!" losers - GFY.

#8 No offence, but arcane blast is not nearly as good as various other new spells availible to other classes. Eg. spell reflection with warriors...o look I put my shield up and then u just finished casting ur pyroblast, and then it ends up owning you. Cloak of shadows....just dont get me started on tht. 5 seconds may not sound like much, but a rogue should be able to get most casters down to about 10-30% hp, meaning tht then they can then just vanish, back stab and move on to the next caster and the cloak of shadows will be ready again

I liked incinerate so much I respec'ed for destruction. With all the crit strike boosting armor I have, it only makes sense. As an level 64 affliction 'lock, I wasn't really taking advantage of that. My dps meter went from 248 to 480 when i used the ka-jiggers at my disposal. I can't wait to try it out some more as I do my serious questing. I will miss nightfall, unstable affliction, and siphon life, but higher damage and quicker kills are worth the trade.

My mate has a lock and this spell works very well in combination with my mage (who is scorch-fire specced) as he can benefit from the scorch debuff i put on a target. the way i see it is that it helps out the whole group/raid's dps so why not use it? :)

I play a 62 lock Demo spec, to say locks are a glass cannon is...well it's just not true, I have about 7k hp and +489 shadow dmg (probably not the best but it still hurts) I can take on multiple mobs/players at once ususaly with out even resorting to fear. the new incenerate spell looks like alot of fun for dest locks and I'm going to have fun using it anyways because immolate is part of my regular castin que. casters with mega hp FTW
