Around Azeroth: Do you remember Scarlet Monastery?

Scarlet Monastery has always been one of my favorite dungeons. It's nicely designed -- the winged layout allows it to be run in bite-sized chunks, each wing and each boss provide interesting challenges (and, for the first time, require you to be able to work well in a group), and the loot is great stuff that you're likely to use for quite a while (anyone else hit level 60 still using the Illusionary Rod from Doan?). And beyond all of that? The scenery is quite incredible -- especially in Herod's chamber, where statues of great heroes look down on you as you battle. This shot, sent in by Ampersand of We No on Eitrigg, shows off Herod's chamber quite nicely.
Do you have a unique shot of Azeroth that you'd like to show off to the rest of the world? Tell us about it by e-mailing aroundazeroth@gmail.com! You can attach a picture file or send us a link to one -- and don't worry about formatting, we'll take care of that part.

Scarlet Monastry is a great dungeon, without it lvl 30-40 would be pretty bland lol, but Herods Chamber is so boring, i say that because i did Armoury Runs about 20 times just to get his bloomin helm, and he just never ever dropped it lol

My favorite mid-level instance, and actually one of my favorite instances game-wide.
Multiple wings each with a different atmosphere, good drop rate for BoE items, and short runs to each boss. What more could you ask for in an instance?
I wish all the instances were as well implemented.

As someone who just got into the game, I really love SM. Took my Tauren Shammy through each part several times (though not the graveyard) and came out with some great gear.
It's almost disappointing that SM offers such a nice range of gear, but the next instances don't. My favorite part of WoW (aside from world PvP) is instancing, and I've not been particularly impressed with RFD or even Uldaman. Ah well, still a lot of fun.

Remember it? I still farm it to sell Fiery Enchants!

SM was awesome--I wore most of those drops on my shaman well into his 50's. I went back there recently as a 62 to level my daggers/axes for dual-wielding. Running SM solo was a ton of fun!

I loved SM the 5 times I went to it on my main and alts.
It was also awesome seeing a few of the SM bosses as kids in Old Hillsbrad at South Shore in the Caverns of Time.
