Well I have a mage, priest and pally - all 60th level. The whole idea of a hybrid role, i.e. pally,shaman,druid and shadow priest is that part of your character's strength is their flexibility. A shadow priest who never pops out of shadow is just a nerfed "shadow mage". Yes - I've heard of shadow priest who can lead their raids in damage but they tend to be *very* well geared. In an equal geared, equal skilled comparision, rogues, mages and then hunters/DPS warriors and THEN hybrid classes should lead in DPS.
Note: druids seem to break the rules though, specced correctly, they can heal as well, though differently, than priests, tank as well (though differently again) as a warrior and dps almost as well as a rogue but w/e.
