What can you kill now?
This afternoon, a overconfident rogue on my server was claiming he had soloed MC up to Domo at level seventy in the trade channel. Anyone who laughed at him was told "Yeah, why don't you come outside and duel me and then say that?" Then he threatened to report everyone. Good times, good times.
Although this rogue was clearly full of hot air, other people are now going back and seeing what they can do with the level 60 content. A healer/tank combo two-manned a 45-minute Stratholme run a few days ago, and a druid and priest killed Bloodlord Mandokir in ZG last week, although it did take them over half an hour and they exploited. Some theorycrafters are wondering how many level 70s you would need to do MC all the way through. The only concrete number posted was fourteen, but that included some lower-60s players. Since so many of the fights in there are curse-dependent, you'd need some pretty strict class composition.
I've thought of going back and seeing how much of UBRS or Strat I could solo, but since I'm a rogue and can't heal myself, I probably wouldn't get very far. Have you fought any old content? How much do you think you could get done with a 5-man group?

Haven't tried any of the 60 end game content yet, but I've been able to go back to my old money making ground, SM Cathedral, which I had down to 11 minutes @ 60, and get it done in 7.
That's a 4 minute improvement, and when disenchanting 2 blues and a few greens every 11 minutes meant 10 or so gold, that was great. Now it doesn't seem like that much money anymore. Though it is fun fighting 10+ guys at a time without the need to heal afterwards.

Well, we had a mid-60s group (druid, mage, priest and rogue) and we did baron 45 in 25 mins and scholo in just under an hour. As the priest I spent more time fighting than healing. Really, it's almost embarrassing how damn easy it's all become. Of course I'm only refering to the 5mans here, as we havent really bothered with trying out other things.
A fellow guildie (63 warrior) has been soloing ZF as well, not quite sure why, but thats not the point :)

Yay, Bet!

my guild decided it would be cool to try to 3 man ony. me (Mage), my good friend (warrior), and another guildie (Druid, healing) did it in 50 mins. Our warrior had his FR gear from Sha'tar rep, and ony would barely hurt him, having well over 12k hp.

w00t i soloed hogger yesterday at level 10.
it was on a warlock though, so i used fear, and had my void walker tank.
w00t :P

I'm only 66 but I've been soloing BRD lately, druids are fun, stealth to boss, kill boss.
So far there are only 4 bosses I can't take (including emp/princess and the 7 spirits event)

I'd love to see the person who solo's Onyxia. I saw a video of 3 level 60's killing Ony (gratnted it took them upwards of an hour) so it's possible.

Does this make anyone else a little sad, that the old endgames are basically obsolete now? There's almost no, if any, point in doing them anymore when you can just head right into Outlands and get quest gear better than ZG drops. It seems like such a waste of content.

It is a little sad that we seemed to have lost all the old content. What really sucks is that I'm a relatively new player, and my main is only a 50. I will never experience a 40-man raid where we have to be extremely careful in order to not wipe. Now, I can take a few 70s with me and do them easily. I kind of wanted to experience that... but oh well, I'll enjoy the new content (when I get there...)
Boonie Feb 11th 2007 9:32PM
@8 That's what a previous topic was about... the best answer I read was to make the BoP items from old endgame content BoE... so it could be bought by enchanters a lot easier or even AH'd. But you all make a good point... why as a relatively new lvl38 would I aim for Blackrock etc if I can just get better gear in outland... it's a waste. Shame really.

er-uh ya i have a 62 lock and still have many quests left in brd ubrs lbrs, one of them being onyxia atunement... the lfg tool wont let me lfg, couldn't find a group lfg on /1.... so like the good lock iI am started to solo brd at 62...hmmm did pretty good didn't wipe untill I got to the 4 mob groups that tended to be a bit much.. so its back to outland to lvl then back to test it again untill I can.....
Barnabey Feb 11th 2007 11:04PM
Wouldn't know, I've been in outland all of 5m before saying "too many nubs here asking questions that are stated in quest text" So now I'm pouring all of my casual-gamer time into my Draenei shaman, Who just dinged 42 earlier today, I want to play the new content with him and hopefully by the time I get there the noob-itis will have worn off and there wont be so many people.

I was able to make my way to the Alchemy Lab in Scholo for my epic mount quest with a 68 feral druid (of course I'm a warlock, 65) with out much effort. Beat having to get full group, that's for sure.
Terd Fergeson Feb 11th 2007 11:48PM
My friend and I have been doing exactly this. (70 hunter, and 66 Lock) and thusfar have downed LBRS for our UBRS Key and Strat and Scholo for my enchanting. it's pretty easy if you have two people in the same room. It's pretty fun casting your vengeance on Scholo for defeating you so many times in the past too.
Shat Feb 12th 2007 12:44AM
As for the new content, all I can say is "lol wtf attunements"

Me and a warlock 2-manned BRD and Scholo last night to see how fast we could really. The only trouble was when we tried to let his Felguard tank the butcher and us slow DPS - promptly giving us a kicking. Ended up just kiting him around the top and jumping down when he caught up (since he runs fast).
Talking about 2-manning stuff, me and the same warlock usually duo a lot of the larger group quests in Outlands two. I solo'd Uvorus, we 2-manned the huge voidwalker quest with the group of ethereals. We almost 2-manned Cipher of Domination (down to 15%).
Goes the other way too though, we've yet to finish Battle of The Crimson Watch with 5 people. For a quest supposed to be for '4 players' it's insane. About 9 69/70 elites (~12k HP), then 2 elites (~35k HP) that do insane magical damage, then 4 elites (~30k HP) that curse, do flamestrikes etc. We haven't even had a good attempt at the last guy that spawns because either healers are completely OOM (that's with drinking in between waves) or too many people are dead. Everyone that I've tried it with have agreed it's the hardest group quest in Azeroth and Outland at any respective level.
At least it's a challenge after solo-ing, two-manning, etc other stuff though!
