Breakfast Topic: Your least favorite class to play
We're always talking about our favorite classes, favorite specs, favorite gear. And if we're not, we're cursing shammies and pallies for how they treat us in PvP. But before you found your favorite class, the one you love and adore and will play until the end of time, you may have had a different experience with another class.
It may just be a mild disappointment, or it could be outright hatred, but I'm sure there's a class we've all tried playing that just didn't satisfy us the way we thought it would. Some of us may even have multiple classes that we can't stand.
In the spirit of sharing, I'll go first. You know that Draenei shammy I've been leveling up? He's 64 now, after a month of play. I don't like him. I really don't like him. Here's what bugs me - and I should've known, as it's the same thing that bugged me about my paladin for the longest time - there's no one clear path for the shaman to take. Hybrids, by their very nature, must require some ability to either focus on one subset of their abilities, or accept being mediocre at a number of things. I can't stand this. I'll never be the best healer, nor the best tank, nor the best DPS. Sure, I can do any of those things, but not as well as a single-purpose class.
So, how about you? What class did you really give a good attempt to, but now can't stand? Or what class did you leave behind simply because your new class is more fun? Get your rants out here!

Funny huh, I leveled a Troll Shammy to 54 before i found out that i hated him for the same reasons. Blizzard has only deepened the hole of uselessness for the shaman on top of that, quest rewards directed at the shaman are indecisive as to what direction one should go with the mail wearing wannabe-Pally. Give us purpose or give us deletion!

I tried to be a warrior on a few separate occasions, but could never get into it. Maybe that's because my main in a pally.

It's funny, I hate the paladin not because it's a hybrid necessarily, but because I actually grew to hate it! Raids played a big role when I was forced into healing roles, and given little chance to either tank or hit stuff. With that healing spec, soloing just went down the hill until I hardly played that character. Leveling him was a while other story...needless to say, it was slow going.

If you can't focus on which 'path' to choose then I think it's more of a user that class problem.

My least favorite would have to be the rogue. As nice as it is to be able to sneak around, it eliminates that sense of danger when you're trying to get around an area. And the raw dps isn't as great as people make it to me.

I started off with a rogue who I levelled to about 30 before I parked him to try an Druid. Now, here's the thing, I don't *hate* druids as such, but whenever I played her I found I was mostly in cat form (solo) and, even fully feral specced, I just felt like a gimped rogue most of the time. That and the fact that healer has to be the worst job in a group; when things go wrong who does everybody blame (even despite me telling them I wasn't a healer...)?
So, she's parked at 40 now and has become a bank alt, while my rogue is now 62, just respecced to assassination (with subtlty) and loving it!

Rogues. Still my only 60+ character, I despise stunlock and yet it's the only way to get anything done as a rogue. On top of this, they're damn near useless for anything "huge" like raids, you're just spitting out damage with rare utility of sap. Rogues are born to gank, and I really hate ganking as well.
Should of stuck with my first instinct back at launch, hunters, closest WoW gets to the CoH Controller AT/CoV Dominator AT.

Any class other than Mage. It sucks my will to live not being able to teleport/portal and having to pay someone else to do it for me. :D

I mainly play an Orc Warrior, now lvl 63 and I enjoy it from time to time.. on one hand he's my first ever character and has my complete f-list and total social surounding, everyone in my guild knows who I am and always greets me with a smile "Hey Von =)"..
on the other hand Ive got a big amount of alts; the highest is ony lvl 14, that is because I dont cope leveling one more char up to 60+ just like that, it would take me maybe about 2 months to do that considered how much I play, and if I would dedicate 2 months of playing to something else than playing on my main it would take even longer to get to 70 with my main, and I would even possibly be kicked out of my precious social guild for being inactive..
So.. Atm my favourit class is Warrior, but that is basicly because it's easy-played though solo sucks and tanking demands alot of knowledge.. I could maybe pic up one of my alts IF; 1- my guild broke up 2- warriors are nerfed even more 3- my realm gets a free emigration so I could move my hunter and/or mage from pvp to normal for smooth leveling..

Being that my main is a pally, it's tough for me to play any character that can't heal themselves. I dont like to use potions at all, as I feel health/mana pots are a waste of money/resources.
Because of this, the class I hate is warrior. I've tried to get into the class twice, and just can't. Not being able to heal, and having to wait to generate rage is just so frustrating to me.

@7: ditto with all classes except paladins. :D

u know what sucks, when u lvl balance and when u hit 60 noone wants you. then u become healer in order to see end game stuff and by the time u get hang of it it becomes boring like hell. then u go feral pvp some, lvl to 70 and then what?- yes your healer again. u cant farm shit , cant even to solo quests properly couse everything that includes u killing over 20 mobs doesnt pay out in time and repair money spent on it. but as much as i hate my main druid i love him and wouldnt trade him in a world.

My least favorite class is shaman because I think they are too much work.
Steven Feb 18th 2007 10:58AM
Paladin is the only class I haven't at least played to 30 or so, because I absolutely cannot stand them. They're just no fun to play! Maybe they get better in later levels, but I doubt I'll ever give them a chance...
Mats Feb 18th 2007 10:58AM
It's either you speck a raid-type setup, where you can heal, and you are wanted in all groups and raids. But can't do shit alone. Or you become a "DPS"'er where you compete with everyone else for a room in the group/raid, but you can solo stuff.
If there was any group that could do both of these, everyone would play that class.
Stop complaining about hybrids.

I've always fancied the idea of being a main healer, and have tried to play a priest on a few different occasions. The things is, is that I love everything about the priest, but for some reason when I get behind the character and start playing, it just drives me nuts.
I'm not entirely sure what it is, but I can never get them past level 30.
This same thing happens with druids for me. I love the idea of shape shifting between different forms, being as hybrid, and filling multiple roles... but for some reason I just can't stand it once I get into the thick of it.
Mayhap is the lack of a clearly defined role, both for the priest and the druid, as I'd like to be able to dps well for solo and pvp play, but heal well for instancing and raid play. Thus, my mains have been a hunter (at 66) and a warlock (at 62). Both are clearly dps, and do it well, but both have outstanding utility. I've always loved having a pet to send in as well, which is probably a big part of the issue.

I tried a warrior.. absolutely hated it and then a hunter, hated it.. then onto my Warlock at the moment it is 64 and i've started a Rogue on the side when bored which i'm begining to like.
In past games I always enjoyed the Warrior class but in WoW I cannot seem to care for it in the least.

The two I don't like much are Warrior and Paladin.
I have a Warrior that I've managed to level to about 15, and it's just boring as hell. Charge in, hit thing with axe, repeat. None of their skills are very interesting. I don't want to be a tank, and I can melee on my Shaman main if I want to.
I got a Paladin up to lvl. 6 just for the hell of it. I don't think it's a bad class, but the way it operates is just unappealing to me. I don't like the Judgements system. And it felt kinda sacrilegious, since I've played as a shaman for over 2 years.
Benny Feb 18th 2007 12:19PM
My very first character was a troll shaman. When I made my undead warlock, he was quickly forgotten. It was way too hard to level with the shammy as a restoration and an elemental. I deleted him a short time after making level 25.
I also have a level 21 BE paladin I've put on ice. It's just not as much fun as playing a warrior. I just want to hack and slash. Worrying about mana regeneration and managing blessings and seals is such a drag.
So I guess I don't like any class with a semi-healer function. Playing my priest is way more fun because I have the tools to really heal and protect. Although being a DPS druid is fun too. Bear Dance FTW

#17, since you've played a lvl60 shammy. All the flaws of the shammys are fixed on the Paladin, I'll tell you that.
Totems suck in raid compare to blessings and judgements.
You must be some kind of noob to judge any class having played them only up to 6 or 10, instead of up to 40 atleast.
