Server stability one month later
So, how are the servers treating everyone a month after the expansion release? Alleria's actually gotten (knock on wood) significantly better, with only one hard server disconnect last weekend. It seems that all of our instabilities are on weekends, last weekend's was Saturday, the weekend previous was on Sunday. There have also been no queues for the last two weeks, even during prime times, lag has been "acceptable" for me anyway. How are your servers treating you?

My server (Eldre'Thalas) has seemed to be working fine, and better than pre-BC now-a-days.
Quenes were up during nights about 2 weeks before TBC but by Jan 30th people have begun to disperse again, and server is doing wonderfully. A little lag every once in a while; but all acceptable.
I'm happy. :)

After threatening us with a server split, we haven't had a single queue even at peak times over on Elune. Guess a lot of people took the free transfers.
I can recall a couple server crashes, Outlands one night, Instances another, Azeroth on another day. But they were all back up within minutes and seem to be isolated incidents.
Shattrath lags a bit for me, but I'm almost convinced that's my AMD 3200XP processor straining to keep up. I recently upgraded to 2GB RAM, which helps a lot - but I'm running at 98-100% processor capacity with WoW/Vent/Foxfire up. I'm itching to upgrade, but it means going 64-bit and PCIE, which means replacing almost everything.

Llane was doing great, no queues or unscheduled server downs, that I noticed, better than before BC, actually. I started playing on Ravencrest, a new server, and that one is just peachy :)

I'm also on Alleria and I get home after work around 7pm CST and it used to be 300-500 queues some nights. I'd actually call home 30 minutes before i got home and told my bro to log me on so when i would get home i'd be set, but now i get home ~7 and no queues!! dunno who deserves credit but now its all gravy ^_^

I remember the first couple of weeks after BC came out I had high queue times and some decent lag. But now a month later I have not had one instance of lag or queue time for a week or two now.
I can't comment on the lag/qeueu time before BC due to the fact the server I play on now I just moved to to join a friend.
Seems to me Blizz is making some progress.

Server is great since i jumped (with the rest of my guild) from Kirin Tor to Farstriders. the only downside is our PVP cluster is a little lacking in competetors.

Crushridge has been better lately. Queues disappeared about 2 weeks after TBC, not much lag....Still getting disconnected every now and then no biggie though. It's all good.

a lag spike here and there on Whisperwind, but they're really infrequent. Queues have disappeared and the threat of a realm split is gone now that most people have transferred to other realms.

I've actually found my experience to be remarkably stable post BC, I fully expected the servers to format themselves but Blizzard did actually manage to keep the game running.
And Shat's lag indeed comes it chewing on your computer. Shat on Thaurissan is practically empty most of the time and my FPS still drops by 20 or so.

EU-Alexstrazsa is doing nicely. Couldn't be much better.

Bloodscalp continues to have random crashes throughout the week and instances that are not viable. We crashed again last night.

I've been on Sargeras since i started playing. The highest i've ever seen a queue has been in the 150s, just high enough to take a bathroom break before i start playing. Sargeras has been incredibly stable, and has had very few issues. When certain servers go down for maintenance, or to fix issues, Sargeras is never one of them. Even the realm restarts go faster than most of the other servers.
I love my server.

It would figure, a couple weeks before BC hit, my IRL buddies all decided they wanted to come back. Only problem was that Alleria had 500+ queues... so after about a week of constant nagging, they got me to use the free transfer over to BaelGun, so now I'm stuck over there on a level-lopsided server with a gimped economy just waiting for my 3mos to finish so I can get back to my buddies in Living Gods on Alleria. :(
jakk on the blackrock server Feb 22nd 2007 1:33AM
until today blackrock is awesome but now... authenticating...
Induron Feb 20th 2007 1:30PM
Medivh had it rough for a while with bad instance and world lag for the first week. Since then, it's been all right except for lag spikes.
And right now I can't authenticate.

I moved from Dragonblight (PvE) to Blade's Edge. Biggest issue we have there is the battlegrouds, except for EotS, never pop. I count this as a mistake on Blizzard's part, putting only new servers in a new battlegroup, instead of creating a new battlegroup out of several existing servers and plugging the new ones into the vacancies in existing battlegroups.
Zuuler Feb 20th 2007 2:57PM
I haven't had too many problems since the release of burning crusade. My favorite thing now is to ride through orgrimmar around 8 or 9, peak time, with no lag. Its great.
Zuuler Feb 20th 2007 2:58PM
BTW the last time I had authentication problems it was because of my addons. The only solution I could find was to uninstall and reinstall WoW.
Strongmark on Arthas Feb 20th 2007 3:50PM
Arthas FTW!
first two weeks after TBC was released, we had about 170-220 queues, and about a 10-15 minute wait (only during prime hours), but after the initial release it has been great, even on weekends. Haven't had a problem since, and the servers seem to be very stable!
Bradley Nash Feb 20th 2007 4:17PM
After BC came out I never waited in a line bigger than 150 on my server (Spirestone) and the only lag I had was at the very beginning of the blood elf starting zone. Other than that, no problems whatsoever. Mucho props to blizz
