Blizzard updates Under Development page
For the first time since before the Burning Crusade was released, Blizzard have updated their Under Development page to tell us that the Black Temple is going to be opened soon, and will contain Tier 6 armor. We knew it was going to be opened eventually, given that the physical edifice is already in the game, and even the instance portal (though it tells you that the instance isn't available yet), but this probably means it'll be in the next content patch. Here's Blizz's text:Originally founded as a Draenei temple, this plot has been conquered and despoiled many times throughout the history of Outland, removing any spiritual grace it may have once held. The Black Temple has been the stage of the Orc Horde's blood curse, a fortress for the then-mortal Ner'zhul, and a prime staging ground for the Burning Legion's campaign of destruction. Most recently, it has been claimed as home by Illidan, where he and his minions make their bid for power over the remnants of the shattered planet. Now, it is up to you to face the malefic forces of Illidan and his minions in hopes of freeing Outland from chaos and tyranny.
Black Temple is a 25-person raid dungeon located in Shadowmoon Valley.
- Explore an ancient site steeped in Warcraft lore
- Gain access to more than a hundred new rare and epic items, including tier-6 armor sets
- Choose your path through a nonlinear level-70 raid dungeon, as you make your way to...
- Face Illidan himself!

The majority of people out there don't even have any pieces of tier 4 let alone tier 5 and Blizzard is already talking tier 6? I think Blizzard needs to slow down a bit. I want to enjoy BC not rush through it to get new tier sets. If I recall there was over a year gap between t2 and t3 and I think thats the way it should stay.

Silly of me, I know, but I feel like we're rushing through Outland's potential too fast unless Blizz has the intention to restrict stuff from us. Ok so we've all seen the semi-insane attunement for BT, so they managed to drag that on for a couple of weeks (hardcore players steamroll through anything in this game, it won't take months), and eventually a guild will get to Illidan. Then what? Given a couple of weeks of attempts (worst case scenario) to learn the fight, Illidan will be killed. He's the lord of Outland, who else is there to kill that's higher than this guy? Unless of course Blizz makes him unkillable, which I think is the easy workaround to extend content as much as possible...

I don't think this'll be 2.1. no one's gone past the second boss in serpentshrine, let alone Mt. Hyjal (which I assume is a prereq)
and Naxx could be called nonlinear - you could choose from any one of 4 bosses to kill most of the time.

Well - considering they expect a new expansion out next year - I don't think a 1 year gap is going to fly.
And people actually getting into Black Temple and/or Caverns of Time is going to be a while yet.

I assume "non linear" means it's like Naxx -- it will have different wings and you have to clear them all to reach Illidan but the order you go through it is up to you.

However this was already taken down on Blizz's website. I think they decided to not post this information and probably that 2.1 is, at least, a month, most like two months away. I would wadger that BT will come in May. By then someone might be in Magtheridon's Lair!

Huh, it sounds like it's gonna be fun, but like people said similar to Naxx, which, to alot of people, is a hard goal to get. Only 2 guilds on Suramar-H have gotten to Naxx. Hopefully it doesn't turn into that again. I'd like to see more content without it being exclusively to tyrant like guilds that play all day long just to get the ebst gear faster. And I never heard of another xpac coming out next year...doubt it'll have too much more. We've used up most of the WarCraft Lore Land. All that's left is Northrend and maybe a few mor odd places. Anyway, sounds cool and can't wait to see the T6 stats.

BT will be another one of those instances/raids that I will never see because I don't have the time or inclination to raid all the time. I only have a limited amount of time to devote to WoW and its not long enough to do a single raid a week, let alone repeated shots at it.

If you rush through and are left with nothing to do in a few weeks instead of taking your time and enjoying things, too bad for you.

as for serpentshrine last i heard there has ben 2 guilds who have past the 2nd boss and 1 guild past the first boss in bomh so its all speculation really
