WoW Moviewatch: Rioting across the realms
Well, some players have decided that in-game riots may be the answer. The answer, at least until GMs started mass sleeping players participating and handing out three hour bans. This video (which is not entirely safe for work) covers rioting on Dentrag, but there are similar happenings on Warsong, Stormscale, and perhaps other realms. However, while many priests don't feel they're being listened to elsewhere, I'm not sure this is the solution -- at least unless your goal is to get your account banned.

thats all i have to say about that.

While I think it's interesting people would do this, I do not like nor condone the attitude of the person who made this video.
Tired of getting pushed around? Not gonna take it anymore?
You're paying for a service that you don't HAVE to pay for. If this is the way Blizzard wants to make its game, then deal with it, or find something else to do.
I got tired of my mage pre-BC so I rolled priest and made him my first (and only) 70. Now my shadow priest is taking a bit of a nerf, so I rolled a warrior to play with until changes happen. I may even go back to my mage now because I hear that they came out ahead with TBC's release.

Making other people's gameplay a crappy experience is totally the way to stick it to the man...

Priests as a community have generally been the best behaved group out there. After two years of "resonable" discourse and getting hit repeatedly with the nerf stick, it finally went too far. What you are seeing here is 2 years of repressed rage. You know what, it's working too, there have been more preist forum blue posts in the past two days than there have been in the past two months.
Personally, I didn't take place in the riots, but I was geeting tired of being passed over for raid spots, so I just turned my priest into an alchemy mule 2 weeks ago and am leveling a pally.

Welcome to the world of warriors priests, constant nerfs suck don't they? I was shocked by the recent warrior changes, I did not think they would slightly un-nerf rage generation.
Meliv Feb 26th 2007 6:00PM
Oh please, that's not a riot. Alliance should have occupied the Horde cities and vice-versa. That would have really screwed up the server
dlanni Feb 26th 2007 6:08PM
There really is no statement in this 'riot' video. Most of the participants were people who rolled level 1 priests so they could have an excuse to run around Ironforge and yell a lot. It would be slightly more meaningful if there were actual high level priests and other high level characters participating. It's not civil disobedience or rioting if you have nothing to lose.
Running around screaming in Ironforge only disrupts other players who had nothing to do with the nerfs. "Stab our backs when you trash our halls, trash a bank if you've got real balls." --Dead Kennedys
All in all, a pointless video.

Well on top of this it looks like the Forums are down now.

I have to agree with hkedi, #4. I believe as a whole, we're a well behaved group. The recent priest nerfstick hit was enough to make a couple friends of mine quit WOW altogether (i.e. complete subscription cancellation).
Someone mentioned quitting; a perfect example of the paradox created is that when one WOW player quits, at least 1 more signs up. I happened to know both a quitter, and a new subscriber in just one day; and there are undoubtedly many more. The greatest action a WOW player can take is to quit; but when they won't listen to one person- the next best thing is en masse protests.
I would've recommended a silent protest (walk) around Alliance cities, maybe collaboration with the Horde; what ensued above was a release of rage (no pun intended) and wasn't exactly mature.

That is the funniest WoW video i have seen in a long time.
yes yes, I agree, sucks for those not involved but still, very entertaining for me to watch.
Rich Feb 26th 2007 6:30PM
And people said Warriors QQ a lot.
Sam Feb 26th 2007 6:47PM
Riotting?? Is anyone else laughing their heads off simpling thinking about this?
My motto.. stick to a class that can't get any worse. Rogues suck so bad at endgame, that there's no chance they'll nerf anything for them. Hence why I'm rolling a rogue currently at 47.
Pick an overpowered class.. and I guarantee at some point they'll nerf something huge and will change your gameplay.
Catfoot Feb 26th 2007 6:59PM
What is it with people making "videos" and putting music on them like that? Can't stand 'em! I turned it off half way. The music is like having some drunk person tell you a "great story" where "you had to be there".
Baluki Feb 26th 2007 7:47PM
That's pretty funny. Just remember kiddies, when you do something stupid like this, you make your entire class look stupid.
Priest: We're really in need of some fixes for our class.
Other person: But you guys did those stupid "riots". Who cares what you think?
KyleZ Feb 26th 2007 8:04PM
Well, the thing is - participating in the riots/forums/corpse-graffiti is actually more fun than playing the game...
Chouclac Feb 26th 2007 8:26PM
@15 I actually agree with you. Its the only reason I play the game...I live far from my family and its the only way I can reach my brother consistently. Since the recent nerfing of things. My fun for the game diminished by a lot. I'm thinking of just trying another game. Maybe the wrath of the nerf bat isnt as hardcore as blues.
Wilgje Feb 26th 2007 9:04PM
The only thing I liked about that video was the song. Buh, really immature behaviour. As reply 11 said: And they say warriors QQ a lot!
Live with it, priests, or just cancel your subscription - don't take it out on innocent lowbie players.
John Feb 26th 2007 9:45PM
If everyone is being nerfed then we're all still good, right?
doctiloquus Feb 27th 2007 1:27AM
Oh boo-hoo... blizzard modified one or two of your character's abilities slightly. Who cares if doing so is in the interest of making the game more balanced and competitive across the board - you'll cry anyway.
Idiots. Worse: Bored idiots fixated on the statistical minutia of a video game.
Thijz Feb 27th 2007 2:19AM
I agree with #5. Warriors have been nerfed with almost every single patch. Now the priests get a 20 sec CD on on of their spells and they go spoiling other people's gameplay!? I know warriors QQ a lot, but it was so bad I even abandoned him to roll a shaman (only class not getting nerfed lately). If you don't like it, send a complain to Blizz, don't lag the servers.
