WoW Moviewatch: Spellstealin'

When Elizabeth said Spellsteal was crazy cheap fun, she wasn't kidding. Spellsteal is the new level 70 Mage spell that steals a beneficial magic effect from an enemy (it only works sometimes, but being as my mage is only around 25, I couldn't tell you offhand exactly where it works and doesn't). Stiil, as the video shows, a mage with spells he's not really supposed to have can get a little crazy.
Now, I'm also told this no longer works (most likely this is an old movie, and Spellsteal was tweaked to not work with this AoE spell). But I'm guessing we're just scratching the surface so far on all the ways Spellsteal can be used to full effect.

Saw this movie the other day from a friend in my guild and laughed my ass off. The few places I've been after getting 70 haven't afforded me the opportunity to spellsteal much. I did manage to grab the small green corehound buff in the Shadowlabs!

I haven't done anything super-crazy (can't see the video, at work...) with Spellsteal yet, but I've had quite a bit of fun with it. Stealing the +120 spell damage buff from the blood crystals in Netherstorm, stealing an ability that gave me 10% chance to not be interruped while casting, plus 100~ arcane damage. Pretty much, if I can steal it, I will. Even if it isn't a buff I can use (i.e. a melee buff) I'll still steal it b/c it will weaken the enemy. :D

a mage in our guild stole POM last night off of another mage. That plus him being a fire mage = dead shammy :D

EDIT: He stole the buff from another mage while killing a shammy! that wasnt very clear up there haha

The spell off the astromages in the mechanar was fun until they nerfed it a bit. It's a necessity for romulo and juliette, at least in our still paladin-less raid group. The buff off the menders in the botanica is amazing. It's also fun to steal buffs off of ally, especially right after you see them do a group buff at the meeting stone or whatever. I've also managed to steal and ap pom and do a double pom that way. pew pew!

Bravo to the maker of this vid for zooming on at the appropriate times to show us the text detail. Most of the time I can't tell wtf I'm looking at in these "look how cool this is" videos.

Riding people down and killing them while mounted was the best part. Good stuff, good find, and good video.

excellent video, one of the best wow videos ... the zoom in to detail was much appreciated. what i don't get though ... is the number of people that stood there and kept attacking while he was in iceblock ... and they just kept dying ... the bear form druid ... just, LOL!

Awesome video! It's nice that the video zooms in so you can actually read the buff's message, damage log, etc. I wish more wow videos zoomed in so you can actually read the text.
